Thank you to all the parents and grandparents who were able to take the time today to bring their children for a visit to Nursery. Lots of children have been visiting with playgroups over the past few weeks but it was lovely to see them with their families today and we were impressed with how confident the children were. We look forward to seeing you all again in August.

Dino Park
Orla’s family left a comment on our trip to Dino Park:
“Thank you for arranging the outing for the children. Orla had a lovely time xx”
I think children and adults alike all enjoyed their little outing. We were also very proud of the children’s super behaviour.
Dino Day
As promised, we have lots of photos of the afternoon children enjoying their recent visit to Dino Park. Digging for dinosaur bones, the enchanted fairy forest, bouncy castle, the story of the “stinkosaurus” and many other super activities certainly kept everyone amused. Hopefully you can see by the lovely smiles that a great time was had by all. Thank you again to those parents who gave up their time to help us – it was very kind of you.
Dino Smiles
A trip on a bus, exciting activities at Dino Park and crisps and juice in the sun all add up to happy children and grown-ups. The super weather last week helped to make our trip to Dino Park a lovely end of year outing and everyone seemed to go home tired but happy. Thank you to all those parents who accompanied us – we appreciate your help. Here is a selection of photos from the morning trip. Afternoon photos will be posted soon.
Tesco Take Two
Just like the morning children, the afternoon children thoroughly enjoyed their visit to Tesco last week. They also worked well together in teams and carried out the various activities with enthusiasm. Miss Kerr even tried her hand at pancake making and did a very good job. Thank you again to Tesco for such an informative visit and to all the parents who accompanied us on our visit – we really appreciate it.

Tesco Visit
Nursery visited Tesco last week to learn about what happens in the shop and behind the scenes. The children worked very well in teams to solve the shopping puzzles and had to think hard about finding different numbers of fruit and vegetables in various colours as well as the cereal boxes on their shopping lists. The visit to the bakery produced lots of interest, as did the tasting session at the cheese and meat counter, and it was great to see how pancakes and doughnuts are made, especially when they got to taste the end product in the staff canteen along with a welcome glass of juice.
We would like to say huge thanks to Lorna and Martin at Tesco who were so patient and kind. The children thoroughly enjoyed their visit and we all appreciate the time you took to show them round the store. Thank you also to those tolerant staff who had their tea break disturbed in the canteen and to Tesco for the very generous gift bags given to each child.
Here you can see the morning children busy with the various activities.
Photo Comments
Some of our families have been enjoying the recent photos of the children learning about jobs in the community. Dylan’s Mum liked his photo at church:
“Brilliant picture! I can’t decide from the look on his face whether he’s really happy to be holding it or he’s straining under the weight.”
It certainly was heavy that Bible Dylan. Well done for holding on to it.
Lewis’ Mum liked our fire fighter photos:
“Lewis looks like he’s loving being a fireman!”
You really did look the part Lewis. I wonder if you will ever be a fire fighter when you grow up?
Church Visit
The visits to various places in our community continued recently with a walk to the United Reform Church. Rev. McGougan kindly invited us to his place of work and he was able to explain to the children what his job involves, apart from visiting us in Nursery at special times. They were also able to explore the building, upstairs and down, and learn about what happens there.
Thank you to Rev. McGougan for making us feel so welcome and to all the parents who came with us on our visit.

Fire Fighters Finlay And Callum
Two of our families have been looking at the photos of the fire fighter’s visit:
“Finlay was so excited to see this photograph. He said “it’s Fireman Finlay!” He then told me all about the visit from the fire fighter. He’s really enjoyed this topic.”
“Great picture of firefighter Callum! Callum is going to show his uncle Philip this picture as he is a fireman.”
It sounds like we might have some fire fighters of the future here. We’re glad you both enjoyed this visit and hope that Callum’s Uncle Philip is impressed.
Police Station Visit
Joe’s Mum has posted a comment about our visit to the police station:
“The police visit was fantastic for the kids and the mums !!!!! What a great morning !!”
We all thought it was a great visit too. Thanks to everyone who came along to help us and to all the staff at the police station who took the time to show the children what happens inside a police station.
