First Days

We hope that you all enjoyed your first few days in Nursery and are looking forward to attending for a full session this week.
However, if your child takes a little while to feel comfortable, please allow him/her time to take things at their pace: we, as adults, cope with change in different ways and at different rates and children are exactly the same. If you have any concerns about your child, please speak to staff who can offer you advice based on their experiences.
Here are a few more photos of the children getting to know their new environment.

Settling In

It’s great to see that another family has left a comment on our post showing the children playing:

“Orla is really concentrating there!! Glad she is enjoying nursery as is Emma. Looking forward to seeing how much they develop over the coming months. Lovely nursery and lovely staff.”

Thank you for your kind comments. We are looking forward to getting to know all the children and to seeing how they develop too.

Welcome

We hope that everyone has been enjoying their holidays and that you are beginning to think about starting Nursery next week. We are delighted to say that we will have two new members of staff joining the Nursery team, Mrs. Stott and Miss McVicar. They are our newly appointed Early Years Support Assistants and will work part-time with both morning and afternoon children. We are looking forward to both ladies joining our team and hope that they enjoy their time in Hecklegirth Nursery.

Back To Nursery

We hope that everyone has been enjoying their Easter holiday especially since the sun has come out to cheer us up. We are looking forward to seeing you all on Tuesday when we will be welcoming four new children to Nursery. No doubt they will be excited to start with us and we are sure that all our families will make them feel welcome. Miss Awde, our Modern Apprentice, will be working in the Sunshine Room this term which will delight the Sunshine children and we are all looking forward to a fun term ahead. Enjoy the rest of your holiday boys and girls. We will see you on Tuesday.

Back To Nursery

Our new term starts on Monday 6th January when we look forward to seeing everyone again. We will also be meeting lots of new children and feel sure that you will make them feel welcome in our Nursery. They will be excited to be starting Nursery and looking forward to making new friends so we hope that this is the beginning of a happy experience for them.

We have made a slight change to our staffing arrangements this term. Mrs. Kirkpatrick will now be based in the Sunshine Room every afternoon although she and Mrs. Carruthers will continue to do alternate weeks in each room in the mornings. Miss Awde will return to the Rainbow Room this term and is looking forward to working closely with the Rainbow children again.

We hope that you enjoy the rest of your holiday and look forward to seeing you all on Monday.

Star Performance

Thank you so much to all our families who supported the children today at our Christmas celebration. Carmen’s Mum has left all the boys and girls a lovely comment:

“WOW the concert was great today. Carmen’s Nonna and I really enjoyed it. The children were super. Lovely little singers. Well done to ALL the boys and girls for giving us a star performance. Very well done to all the teachers you all do a great job X”

The children were little stars and we were all very proud of them. We have some photos taken as they got ready to sing and will try to put them up on the blog soon.

Welcome Back

We are looking forward to seeing everyone again tomorrow after our holiday. Please remember that our Hallowe’en parties are during the Nursery sessions on Thursday this week when the Sunshine and Rainbow Rooms will join together for fun and games. Fancy dress is optional.
Staffing will stay the same in each room this term and the children will keep the same key workers as previously although Miss Awde, our Modern Apprentice, will now be moving to the Sunshine Room. No doubt the Sunshine children will be delighted to have the opportunity to play with Miss Awde and we are certainly all looking forward to a fun term ahead.

Thank You

Skye’s Mum has left a comment at the end of her time in Nursery:

“Thank you to all the teachers at Hecklegirth Nursery for all your work with Skye. She has enjoyed her time with you all and is now looking forward to starting Primary 1 at Hecklegirth xx”

We hope that Skye enjoys Primary 1 and we look forward to hearing about her progress.
