Thank you to all those who have returned the slip about our updated values. It is important that as many people as possible give their opinion on what best sums up our school community values. If you have not yet completed a slip, please ask Nursery staff for a copy as we would appreciate your ideas. All results will be collated and shared along with the updated vision, values and aims.

Thank You
Proud Parents
Thank you to Sophie’s Mum for her lovely comments both on Family Learning and our graduation:
“We have really enjoyed all the sessions with Eileen, its so nice to be involved with School life.”
“The Graduation was fantastic. All the children sang so confidently and were very brave getting up onto the stage. Such a lovely ceremony. We were very proud parents!!”
We all felt very proud of the children too. They are little stars.
Graduation Day
How proud we all were of the children at our graduation ceremony today as they sang and danced to celebrate their achievements this year in Nursery. They showed great confidence to perform to their families and then to walk on stage on their own to shake hands and receive their certificates. Thank you to Mrs. Alexander for taking time to present each child with their award – we think her knees must have been very sore by the end of the day. Thank you also to all the family and friends who attended our little ceremony and for your support throughout the year.

Snack In The Dinner Hall
Last week the children enjoyed snack in the dinner hall. We all liked the sound of the lunches that Mrs. Martin was preparing although some expected to then get the roast chicken or wraps that were for lunch that day and were a little disappointed to make do with a drink, biscuits and fruit. It won’t be long until some of you are enjoying the delicious lunches every day boys and girls.
A Special Invitation
Some of the children in the Sunshine Room were very busy this morning making a graduation invitation for Mrs. Alexander. There was some fantastic writing and lovely drawings to make it special and Mrs. Alexander was delighted to get her invitation. The children have been practising their songs and are looking forward to performing them to everyone on Tuesday.
Primary 1
Miss Campbell kindly invited some of the children to play in her classroom this week so that they could get a feel of where they will be next year. All who went, settled very well and are looking forward to the move to Primary 1. We hope that more children will get the opportunity to visit Primary 1 soon and experience all the great activities that are on offer.
Moving On
Carmen’s Mum enjoyed the photo of one of the children visiting from Ace playgroup:
“Lovely photo of Ben and the big girls. Hope they looked after you Ben? The big girls will be getting very excited to go be going into p1.”
It always seems amazing when this time of year comes round and we are getting to know our new children while preparing to say our good-byes to those moving to Primary 1. It is an exciting time for all the children.
Moving On
Lots of the children are beginning to talk about the move to Primary 1 and several teachers from different schools will be visiting us in the next few weeks to meet their new pupils. Ava’s family left us a lovely comment about her visit from Mrs.Corrie:
“Ava enjoyed meeting her new Primary 1 teacher and is looking forward to starting at Elmvale, but will miss all her new friends she made at nursery.”
We will miss all the children too when they move on but it’s always great to see how they have grown in confidence and are ready for the next step in their lives.
Den Building
The children who are moving to Primary 1 at Hecklegirth next year were back out in the playground with their buddies and the rest of the school today. They seem to growing in confidence and having fun whether they are on the timber trail, playing football or on the number games. The buddies have also still been visiting Nursery on a Friday and we wanted to share this lovely photos of some of the older children making a den with the Nursery children last week. Well done for being such good role models – all the children love your visits, whether they have a buddy or not.
