Well Done Brooke

Brooke’s family likes the photos of the children feeding the birds:

“Great photos, Since this, Brooke has been helping feed the birds at home and at her Grannies house a lot and has been telling us all about how they find it hard to get food when it’s snowy and cold so we need to feed them.”

Well done Brooke – you have been listening well. Those little birds will be really pleased that you are thinking of them in the cold weather.

Feed The Birds

After our recent days off Nursery due to snow, we had lots of bread that was heading for the bin in our snack area. However, the children decided to give the birds a little helping hand in the cold weather and very kindly put it out in the garden for them. No doubt our little feathered friends were very grateful for our help in the cold weather.

Having Fun

Crue’s family has been enjoying the photos of the children doing their Daily Mile with Primary 6:

“Crue looks like he’s having fun”

They do really seem to all enjoy each other’s company and chat away the whole time. We have a few more activities planned with Primary 6 so I’m sure that they will enjoy themselves together again.

Walk And Chat

Over the past few weeks Monday has become the day for some of our children to enjoy a walk with our kind and helpful Primary 6 buddies. As part of the whole school Daily Mile activity, we have been looking after our Health and Wellbeing by taking a stroll round the school outdoor area. There have been some great chats along the way and we are very impressed by the way that Primary 6 has learned to engage in conversation with our younger pupils, finding out what they are interested in and chatting to them about it. Thank you to Primary 6 for giving us your time – our children really look forward to your visits.

Parent And Child Sports Club

We hope that some of you will be able to participate in our Parent and Child Sports Club open to Nursery to Primary 2 pupils and a parent/carer. Mrs. Foster, our P.E. teacher has kindly agreed to run this for four Tuesdays from 3.00 – 4.00p.m commencing 20th February. This club will introduce you and your child to rugby, netball, gymnastics and athletics, giving you ideas on how to enjoy sport together. Please return the reply slip by Monday 5th February to Nursery staff if you would like to join in.

Keep Nursery Tidy

Our recent “Keep Nursery Tidy” monitors have been doing a great job reminding everyone about the importance of tidying away after finishing with an activity and they have been happy to help with all the little jobs themselves too. Let’s hope that all the boys and girls help our monitors each week to look after our equipment and help to tidy it away.

Buddy Day

Monday is buddy day when Primary 6 visit Nursery children to play with them. All the buddies have now visited both morning and afternoon sessions to get to know our children and they are doing a great job. It’s lovely to see the older and younger children chatting together as they build relationships. We are looking forward to lots more visits in the future and hope that Primary 6 are enjoying their visits too.

Terrific Tartan

Over the past week the children have been learning a little about Scotland and Robert Burns. We have been looking at tartan in the art area where some super work has been created and a display is now up in Nursery. As well as sticking different coloured strips to design tartan, they have been creating patterns with paint and different sizes of rollers so we thought that we would share this little gallery with you. I wonder if anyone can spot their own tartan? Click then click again on photos to see the artist’s name.
