We would like to remind you that Eileen, our Family Learning Co-ordinator, has arranged activity sessions to get you in the festive mood by making Christmas decorations. In the past lots of parents and children have enjoyed doing this together and we are grateful to Eileen for providing the opportunity again this year.
You can join in the fun with glitter and glue on Friday 5th December, Monday 8th December or Tuesday 9th December. There are still some spaces left – just add your name to the list on the Family Learning notice board in the corridor.

The children did really enjoy trying to paint on a bigger scale in the garden.

“Callum was very proud of his certificate and so was Mummy and Daddy. Well done to everyone.”
We are very proud of all the children too.
Learning In Wellies
Today we have two new comments on our blog. Julia’s family said:
“Julia was delighted to receive her certificate. Thank you.”
We also had a lovely comment from Mrs. Waugh about our outdoor measuring activity:
“What good fun this looks! Great, practical learning about mathematics and building up talking and listening skills too- I hope you all wore your wellies, though!:-)”
Wellies certainly were essential for our outdoor maths activity and the children showed great concentration while having fun learning about measure. Thank you to everyone who takes the time to leave us a comment. We really appreciate it.
Photo Comments
Keira’s Nana has been enjoying our photos of the children with their certificates and Children in Need day:
“Very proud of Keira receiving her certificate. Thanks to all the staff for helping her settle.”
“Lovely happy colourful children costumes and for such a good cause.”
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a comment. We hope that our blog is giving everyone an insight into Nursery life.
Joe’s Dad Is A Star
The children recently met Stan the Star (Rainbow Room) and Steve the Star (Sunshine Room), a little bear and a monkey who go home with the children for a visit. This activity supports listening and talking skills, as they talk to the other children about what they have done at home with their visitor, while it also provides an opportunity for the children to learn to ask questions.
Stan the Star’s first visit was to Joe’s family who have certainly given him a wonderful holiday. He also brought a lovely surprise back with him as Joe’s Dad had made fantastic key-rings for the children to keep as a memento of their time with Stan or Steve. We cannot thank him enough for taking considerable time and effort to make these cute little key-rings and we are sure that everyone will treasure them so thank you Joe’s Dad – we think that you are a star too, thinking of everyone.
Children In Need Photos
Kacey’s family enjoyed the photos from Children in Need:
“What a lovely photo of kaceys group.”
The children all looked so great in their different outfits that day.
Thank You
The Nursery toy store has grown considerably recently thanks to some fantastic donations from Theo, Dylan and Niamh. Puzzles, games and even bikes have all been greeted with great enthusiasm by the children so thank you very much to those families for their kind donations.
Family Fun
Emma’s Mum left a comment to tell us how much her family enjoyed the Family Learning activity:
“Emma had a great time with this activity and it was lovely that Chloe and mummy were able to join in too.”
You look like you’re having fun in the photo. We love that little brothers and sisters can join in too.
Stickers, Glue and Sparkling Chocolate Fingers
Keira’s Nana and Kacey’s Mum really enjoyed the Family Learning activity last week:
“Keira really enjoys Eileen’s family activities. Last week was good fun and yummy-stickers and glue then sparkling chocolate fingers, thank you.”
“Kacey had a great time decorating her feet for Diwali she used lots of different textures and materials. She asked for some help from mummy to colour her toes in pink , “it’s my favourite colour” she said.”
It certainly looked like good fun and there were some wonderful patterns on the feet.
