Doctors and Nurses

Kacey’s Mum has been enjoying our recent photos:

“Lovely pictures of the hospital and ambulance visit looks like we’re going to have lots of new doctors and nurses in a few years time!”

The hospital has been one of the most popular role play areas we have had and so many children are working well together and taking turns. I think we do have a few doctors and nurses of the future.

Photo Comments

We have new two comments on our photos. Zander’s family’s is proud of his achievement  getting his certificate last week:

“Well done Zander. Keep up the good work, Love Mum & Dad xx”

We agree Zander – you did very well and deserved your certificate.

It was great to hear that Keira R had been talking at home about our visit from the Financial Education Officer:

“Keira came home and was excited about the money rubbing picture and learning about the size and shape of the coins. I’m sure that the difference between a penny and pound has been well noted by her.
I would like to say that I like the colourful activity and children’s pictures on the ‘banners’ above the blog the collage one is super.”

We are glad that you like the banners at the top of the blog. Some of these have been updated earlier this week and include photos of many of the children. The banners change every time you visit the blog so if you keep refreshing the page you should see the two new banners featuring different activities and children.

Enrolment

Please remember that Wednesday and Thursday (25th and 26th February) are enrolment days for Nursery. If your child is already in Nursery and returning next year you should have your form. If your child is hoping to start Nursery in the next academic year, please come to the school office to complete the enrolment form. We look forward to seeing you there.

Family Breakfast

We have had two comments about our recent Family Breakfast. Eileen, Family Learning Co-ordinator, liked the tattie scones that Mollie made:

“The heart tattie scones look lovely. Thanks for the photo.”

Kacey’s Mum enjoyed our breakfast:

“It was lovely to see lots of adults at the nursery breakfast KACEY enjoyed trying all the different things ,her favourite was the raisins.”

We were delighted to see so many families join us on those days too. It was great to have the chance to spend more time with everyone.

Parent Comments

Two of our families have left recent comments on our photos. Sophie S’s Mum enjoyed our Family Breakfast event:

“sophie and neve her little sister had a fantastic time at the nursery breakfast neve enjoyed it so much she didn’t want to leave.”

It was lovely that some little brothers and sisters were able to join us and we’re glad that you all had a good time.

Julia’s Mum has been looking back at some of the photos with the Primary 6 buddies:

“What a lovely picture of Julia reading with one of the Primary 6’s. She often talks about the “Big girls” coming to Nursery and is already wondering who her buddy will be!”

Primary 6 children are doing a great job and are building good relationships with the Nursery children so thank you very much to them for some super work.

Family Breakfast With The Rainbow Room

As promised, we have a selection of photos from the Family Breakfast event with the children and their families from the Rainbow Room. Judging by the evaluation slips you were kind enough to complete, everyone enjoyed this opportunity and some commented that their children had tried different foods for the first time which is great to hear. Thank you to everyone who was able to join us over the two days and thank you to Eileen for organising another lovely family event.

Sunshine Breakfasts

Our Family Breakfast event last week was very well attended on both days. This was a new venture organised with Eileen, our Family Learning Co-ordinator, as a celebration of our learning about Scotland and it seemed to be a popular addition to our family activities.
Thank you to all the adults who joined in the spirit of the occasion by singing along with the children and encouraging them to try the breakfast on offer. Cereal, various fruits, tattie scones and oatcakes provided a range of foods and most children enjoyed a good breakfast. We were delighted that some were encouraged to taste something they had not had before and found out that they actually liked it.
We hope that some of you have tried the recipes on the back of our menus with the children at home and look forward to hearing about it from them in Nursery.
Here are some photos of the Sunshine families having breakfast on Thursday. We will post the Rainbow Room photos soon.

We Love The Hecklegirth Monsters

More of our families have been enjoying our gallery of Hecklegirth monsters.

“Kacey had fun making her monster, she said she was going to call him Robbie after Robbie Burns!” Good name choice Kacey.

“All the Hecklegirth Monsters are brilliant. Great work by everyone. I especially like Sparkle she is lovely.”

We love your monster too Orla and agree that all the monsters are super. Thanks to all those families who helped their children make the monsters at home.

Monster Comments

Two of our families have enjoyed looking at some of the Hecklegirth monsters that were made at home.

Callum really enjoyed making his own version of the Hecklegirth monster. We loved looking at the pictures of all the different monsters. Well done everyone.”

“Sophie had a fantastic time making this monster its the prettiest monster I have ever seen.”

It’s nice to hear that Callum and Sophie both had fun making their own monsters. We loved that there were so many different ideas of what the monster should look like.
