As promised, we have lots of photos of the afternoon children enjoying their recent visit to Dino Park. Digging for dinosaur bones, the enchanted fairy forest, bouncy castle, the story of the “stinkosaurus” and many other super activities certainly kept everyone amused. Hopefully you can see by the lovely smiles that a great time was had by all. Thank you again to those parents who gave up their time to help us – it was very kind of you.

Great Buddies
Two of our families have been enjoying our recent photos. Callum’s family was impressed with the daily kilometre:
“Well done Tobias and Callum. Keep up the good work!”
Summer’s Mum liked the photo of Summer with her buddy:
“Summer often talks about her buddy and enjoys spending time with her!”
She has also been keeping an eye on our posts about the butterflies:
“Summer has enjoyed watching the butterflies grow and often sings the song.”
Thank you for taking time to leave us comments. The buddies are certainly doing a super job.
Proud Parents
Aoife’s family was pleased to see her photo on our blog:
“It was so lovely to see Aoife receive a special award last week. We are very proud of you.”
Well done Aoife. You certainly deserved that certificate.
Well Done Dylan
Dylan’s family is delighted with his recent award:
“We’re so proud of Dylan this year, he’s come on leaps and bounds. Well done Dylan!”
You have done so well Dylan. It’s at this time of year that we often reflect on the progress that all our children have made in the past year as some prepare to move to Primary 1 and we are very proud of them all.
Thank You
Callum’s family left a comment re Eileen’s “Skills For School” workshop:
“It was very helpful. Thank you Eileen.”
We’re glad that you found it useful.
Skills For School
We hope that those who attended the Family Learning “Skills For School” workshop today found it helpful to prepare their children for Primary 1. Eileen, our Family Learning Co-ordinator, will be running another session tomorrow (9.6.15). Check for spaces on the noticeboard in the corridor if you have not yet signed up and would like to take part.
Flowers
Callum’s family enjoyed the photos of the children planting flowers:
“Callum has told us about the flower planting. He loves helping his grandad in his garden.”
You did a good job Callum. You must have learned lots from Grandad.
Beautiful Butterflies
Alongside our learning about minibeasts and looking after our own little caterpillars, lots of children created their own butterflies at home with their families. We love the range of materials used and the wonderful ideas that you all had. Thank you to all those families who took the time to take part in this activity. Here is a selection of some of the super works of art.

Flower Planting
Mollie’s Mum enjoyed the photos of the children planting flowers:
“What a lovely idea to plant flowers! Mollie loves growing things, we are growing our own veg at our allotment! Thank you Mrs Alexander for the flower pots. The flowers look great!”
Mollie certainly seemed to know how to plant flowers and the children were pleased with the results of their work. They are keen to look after them too so hopefully they should look lovely all summer.
Family Fun
Kacey’s Mum’s been enjoying having a look at our photos.
“Kacey loves the family learning activities (so do I) our cress is still alive and growing on our window . Sadly the pumpkin seed isn’t so well as she was a bit over enthusiastic in watering it, we will buy some more and try again!”
“Well done everyone on the family fun day everyone did great despite the weather being cold and windy, I think the only people that noticed was all the adults that came to watch.”
We did wonder how the pumpkin seeds would do – that’s a shame if it’s not survived. I wonder how other people are getting on with their seeds?
