Christmas Celebration

We hope that you are all looking forward to our Christmas celebration tomorrow, Monday 18th December. Morning parents can join us at 11.20 and afternoon parents at 2.20. The Nursery door will be opened for entry through the usual entrance and parents and family can park in the John Bell car park.
We are keeping our Christmas celebration informal to encourage the children to enjoy a relaxed and happy performance of the songs they have been learning. Mr. Bill Malone, from the Old Parish Church, has kindly agreed to join us and we are delighted that many of our families have indicated that they would like to be part of our celebration. As you can see, the children have been practising to make sure that you enjoy their songs. We look forward to seeing you tomorrow.

Family Learning

We would like to remind you that Family Learning Christmas activities will take place this week on Tuesday 12th December and Thursday 14th December. Eileen, our Family Learning Co-ordinator, has been planning some fun activities for you to enjoy with your children so we hope that lots of families can join in. Younger children are welcome too.

Hecklegirth Fundraisers

We are delighted to hear that a grand sum of over £1700 was raised at last week’s Christmas Fayre. It was lovely to see lots of Nursery children and their families on the night and we would like to thank everyone who contributed to this great total, whether by donating to our hampers, buying squares or attending the Fayre. The Hecklegirth Fundraisers group has already kindly given us a donation towards our Christmas party so our thanks go to everyone involved.

Happy Reading

Enid’s Mum was one of the parents who joined in with our reading day:

“I really enjoyed the opportunity to come in and read with the children, it makes me so happy to be able to do these things with Enid especially when I see how happy it makes her.”

We really appreciated all those parents joining us as we try to find different ways to encourage literacy for our children. We hope to offer this opportunity again next term if there is interest from our families. Thank you to all those who took part this term.

Literacy in Nursery

We would like to thank those parents who joined us last week to read stories to their children in Nursery. This is one way that we are trying to promote literacy for our children and we hope that those who participated enjoyed the experience. Here are a few of the parents who took part, enjoying some story telling. We hope that lots of you will be able to join us again after the Christmas holiday when we will arrange another date.
