We now have the dates of various drop-in sessions organised by the Speech and Language Therapy department. They are providing workshops for parents/carers entitled “Early Language Drop-in”, “Speech Sounds Drop-in” and “Communication Problem Solving Drop-in”. We have leaflets displayed in Nursery on the middle door between the two areas – these explain the details of what is involved in each of these workshops at both Annan or Lockerbie and what the dates are for the sessions.
Speech and Language Therapy also provide an advice line on 01387 220013 which is available every Wednesday from 2.00 until 4.00.
This is a very valuable service which we hope will be useful to you. Please speak to staff for any advice about this opportunity.

Settled In
One of our new parents has been looking at the recent photos of the children enjoying their first few days in Nursery:
“Lovely to see them settled in and playing nicely together!”
It seems surprising that they have only been in Nursery a few days but they are already looking happy and relaxed. Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment. We love to hear from everyone.
“Dates For Your Diary” Update
We have updated the “Dates for your Diary” section on the right under “Support Information” to highlight this term’s important dates in red. Simply click and scroll for details and keep an eye on this section throughout the term as we will continue to update it when we have any further dates for your diary.
New Term
Tomorrow, Thursday 4th January, will be the start of term and we are looking forward to seeing everyone again, along with the twelve new children who will also be getting ready for their first day. We hope that they are excited to be starting Nursery and are looking forward to making new friends. No doubt everyone will make them feel welcome and we hope that this is the beginning of a happy experience for the children and their families.
Our morning session will have a soft start, as usual, between 8.45 and 9.10. The afternoon session will begin at 12.15. We look forward to seeing you all tomorrow.
Family Learning
Thanks go to Eileen, our Family Learning Co-ordinator, for providing super Christmas activities for children and their families to enjoy together at the end of term. We hope that they have added to the festive feel of your homes over the holidays and that those who took part had fun together.
Parents Early Education Partnership
Eileen, our Family Learning Co-ordinator, has been doing some PEEP (Parents Early Education Partnership) activities with our families from the Sunshine Room and their most recent session involved making feely bags using lots of glitter and sparkles. Adults and children alike found this a great session so thank you Eileen for arranging another fun activity.
Well Done
Bethany’s family has been looking at our Christmas celebration photos:
“Was fair proud watching Bethany sing the Christmas songs and going up to santa this year. Her confidence has came on a lot. All the boys and girls done amazing. Well done”
It is lovely to see the children so confident. We still have photos from their party and will post them here soon.
Afternoon Performance
As promised, here are some photos of the afternoon children just before their Christmas celebration. Just like the morning children, they showed confidence in their performance and sang beautifully for their families despite having depleted numbers due to absences. Well done to everyone and thank you so much to all those who provided a wonderful audience for the children.
Proud Family
We have a lovely comment from Enid’s family about the children’s Christmas performance:
“We were so proud of Enid’s singing, full of joy & confidence. Such a pleasure to watch the children all enjoying themselves. Thank you”
We felt very proud of all the children too as most were not daunted by the large audience and showed themselves to be the ‘confident individuals’ and ‘effective contributors’ that we aim for. Thank you to all our families for making this a wonderful occasion for the children.
Christmas Celebration
We hope that, like us, you were very proud of all the children as they behaved and sang so beautifully in front of a big audience at our Christmas celebration yesterday. Huge thanks go to Mr. Bill Malone, Old Parish Church, and Mr. Palmer for joining us and to the many family members who helped to make this a special occasion for the children. Here are a few photos of the morning children as they prepared for their performance. We will post photos of the afternoon children soon.
