Literacy Posters

We hope that you have had time to look at our literacy posters which aim to give helpful, simple advice to support your child’s communication development. Thank you to those parents who helped us plan the format of the posters and to those who have kindly left us feedback on them in the form of post-it notes. We would appreciate any further comments to help us evaluate our work.
Please help yourself to a post-it note and add your comments – the posters are on display on the board near the Nursery entrance.

Special Books

We hope that you have enjoyed looking through the children’s special books with them at home. We would like to remind you to please return them tomorrow, Wednesday 21st March, along with the comment sheet which has been added to your child’s book as part of our ongoing evaluation.
Thank you to those who have already taken the time to share their thoughts with us about their child’s progress. We greatly value your views.

Building Confidence

Enid’s family is pleased to hear about our recent visits to Primary 6:

“This is such a good idea, I’m sure it will go along way to help the little ones settle into school.”

The children are certainly growing in confidence as they build relationships with the older pupils and Primary 6 are showing great responsibility in their role too.

Well Done Brooke

Brooke’s family likes the photos of the children feeding the birds:

“Great photos, Since this, Brooke has been helping feed the birds at home and at her Grannies house a lot and has been telling us all about how they find it hard to get food when it’s snowy and cold so we need to feed them.”

Well done Brooke – you have been listening well. Those little birds will be really pleased that you are thinking of them in the cold weather.

Super Work Primary 6

We have had several comments on our post about the Primary 6 buddies going a walk with the Nursery pupils.

Derry’s family spotted him enjoying his stroll:

“Derry loves a walk. Great to see the older children being so good with the young ones.”

Mr. Callaghan, who also happens to be one of our parents, was impressed with our older pupils too:

“Well done Primary 6- showing what good role models you can be to your Nursery Buddies!”

Our photos also brought back a few memories for one of the parents of our Primary 6 buddies:

“Aww x seems like 5 minutes ago Leo was at nursery and now he’s training to be a buddy 🌟”

We are glad that you agree that Primary 6 are doing a brilliant job. They are growing in confidence with each visit and are building great relationships with our children. Thank you Primary 6 for all your super work.
