Pre-Writing Skills

We were delighted to have so many parents joining us for our pre-writing workshop on Monday and hope that you all enjoyed the activities provided. We would like to thank Shona McGeorge and her team of Occupational Therapists, our Primary 1 teacher Miss Campbell and Eileen, our Family Learning Co-ordinator, for taking the time to provide an insight into the skills we are all trying to develop in the children to prepare them for writing. Shona kindly left a guide for pre-writing skills which everyone should now have in their trays. We hope that you find it helpful.

Experiments

Leah’s family has been looking at the photos of some of the children’s science experiments:

“Leah loved doing science experiments and told us all about it . We saw a book in Aldi with children’s science experiments and we are going to do some at home too . Thank you.”

Well done Leah for talking about your learning at home and it’s great to hear that you are carrying on with your experiments with your family. I hope that you have lots of fun.

Special Books

We hope that you have enjoyed looking through the children’s special books with them at home. We would like to remind you to please return them today, Wednesday 1st May, along with the comment sheet which has been added to your child’s book as part of our ongoing evaluation.
Thank you to those who have already taken the time to share their thoughts with us about their child’s progress. We greatly value your views.

Fun, Exciting And Engaging

Tilly’s family has left us a lovely comment on a photo showing Tilly and her friends exploring the tray of shaving foam:

“This is a fabulous photo! Sums up exactly what nursery should be…fun, exciting and engaging their interests! Lovely to see how happy they all are!”

We love that photo too and, as you can see, the children absolutely love this activity. Thank you for your kind comment.

Happy Photos

Oscar and Letti’s family like our photos of the children looking at the tractor brought in by Fern’s Daddy:

“Oscar was very happy to tell me all about the big New Holland at nursery.”

Everyone certainly seemed to enjoy that visit and we are very grateful to Fern’s Daddy for taking the time to bring it in.

They also enjoyed the photos of the children making chocolate nests:

“Letti enjoyed making herself and Oscar a chocolate nest and she gave Mum have a very small nibble!”

That was kind of you to share Letti. Again, this was a very popular activity. Thank you for taking the time to comment in the holidays.
