Callum and Tobias (P6) seem to be having a great time getting to know each other. Callum’s family left a comment saying,
“What a great picture! Callum has been keeping us up to date with his adventures with Tobias”
Tobias also left a comment saying,
“It has been great showing Callum around the playground. Callum seems to be having a good time! Looking forward to our next adventure!”
It sounds like you two are building a great relationship.
The school playground had some excited visitors last week when the children moving to Hecklegirth P1 in August went out to play at break and lunch times. Despite a very busy playground, the buddies ensured that all the children were confident and happy to try out the different areas although, as you can see, the timber trail was by far the most popular. It was wonderful to see how much the children had grown in confidence to visit different areas of the school and they even managed to line up before going back in to Nursery. Just look at all those happy faces! Hopefully we will manage another visit to the playground soon.
As promised, here are some photos of the Primary 6 buddies in the Sunshine Room meeting the Nursery children and some of their families when they came to deliver their introductory letters. The children who will be moving on to Primary 1 at Hecklegirth in August now know who their own buddy will be and Primary 6 children are making such a good job of building relationships with their new little friends.
The buddies very kindly took the time to write letters to their Nursery child’s family so that they know a little about them and in the last few days they have introduced themselves to their parents or grandparents. We hope that this has eased a few of the worries you may have had about your child moving to Primary 1 and that you enjoy sharing the letters with your children.

Congratulations to the winners of certificates from last week. We are all proud of you.
The children returned to some lovely weather at the start of this term and most took full advantage of the opportunity to access the outdoor area. As you can see, some enjoyed reading a story or painting as they took a little breather from climbing, digging, den building or any of the more physical outdoor activities. Let’s hope the sun keeps visiting us this term to give everyone a big smile on their faces.

Here are our most recent award winners showing off their certificates last week. Well done all of you! Keep up the good work next term.
In our recent Big Pedal event we were delighted to see an increase in the numbers of children bringing their bikes or scooters to Nursery. Over the three days when journeys were counted, twelve children cycled and twenty two came on their scooters. It was great to hear the children talking about how to stay safe on their journeys and we are sure that they are also aware of the importance of using seat belts if they come to Nursery by car.
Since the Big Pedal event, more children seem to have continued to bring their bikes and scooters which is good news. Please remember that they can leave them in the storage unit in the Nursery garden.
