Big Pedal Fun Day

Tuesday was Big Pedal Fun Day for everyone at Hecklegirth as the children brought bikes and scooters to participate in great fun activities in the school playground under the guidance of some super volunteers. The children showed great confidence and enthusiasm to try out the challenges set for them and we would like to thank everyone who helped to organise this event and gave up their own time. The children had super fun and what a great way to keep fit and healthy. Let’s hope that they can have lots of fun in the holidays on their bikes and scooters.

Strawberries, Raspberries And Yoghurt

Ellie’s family has left us a message on our post about the Big Pedal breakfast:

“Thank you for Ellie’s healthy Big Pedal breakfast. She loved the strawberries, raspberries and yogurt.”

It did look delicious! I’m glad that you enjoyed it Ellie and well done for bringing your bike to Nursery.

Big Pedal Breakfast

As well as Big Pedal Fun Day on Tuesday, some of our families enjoyed the Big Pedal breakfast today along with lots of children from our school. What a lovely start it was to the day, enjoying breakfast all together in the school dinner hall. We hope that those who took part enjoyed the atmosphere and, of course, their breakfast. We have lots of photos of the children on their bikes and will post them at some point soon.

Mud Painting And Creativity

We would like to share this little gallery of outdoor play in the Rainbow Room one recent morning. Painting with mud was very popular with some, as the children created artwork using the resources available to them.
Another group decided to make their own hotel using cones, pipes, cable reels and other bits and pieces they found outdoors. In case you are wondering, the watering can on the top of their hotel is the sprinkler to put out fires in the hotel. What a great idea! As always, our children prove themselves to be so creative in their use of resources.

Red Nose Day

Wear your pyjamas and/or crazy hair was the Hecklegirth challenge on Red Nose Day and the Nursery children took part with great enthusiasm. Thank you very much to everyone who made a donation – the Nursery children did so well to raise £51.18 out of a grand school total of £225 which we are sure will help a very worthy cause. We hope you enjoy these happy faces.
