Kobe’s family has been looking at our photos of World Book Day:
“Kobe loved taking one of his favourite books to nursery”
Lots of the children seemed to enjoy this day and it was great to share all their books from home. Thank you for participating.

We have had several comments on our post about the Primary 6 buddies going a walk with the Nursery pupils.
Derry’s family spotted him enjoying his stroll:
“Derry loves a walk. Great to see the older children being so good with the young ones.”
Mr. Callaghan, who also happens to be one of our parents, was impressed with our older pupils too:
“Well done Primary 6- showing what good role models you can be to your Nursery Buddies!”
Our photos also brought back a few memories for one of the parents of our Primary 6 buddies:
“Aww x seems like 5 minutes ago Leo was at nursery and now he’s training to be a buddy 🌟”
We are glad that you agree that Primary 6 are doing a brilliant job. They are growing in confidence with each visit and are building great relationships with our children. Thank you Primary 6 for all your super work.
We would like to remind you that Eileen, our Family Learning Co-ordinator, will be starting her “bag library” tomorrow, Thursday 8th March, outside Nursery. These story, rhyme and number bags are designed to encourage your child to enjoy reading and numbers and families can borrow a bag each week.
If your child attends Nursery in the morning you can collect a bag when you collect your child at the end of the morning session. The bag should be returned the following Thursday at the start of the morning session when you should leave it on your child’s peg. You can collect your new bag at the end of the session.
If your child attends Nursery in the afternoon you can return and collect a bag on a Thursday when you bring your child at the start of the Nursery session.
We hope that lots of families take advantage of this opportunity and thank Eileen for arranging it.
Letti and Oscar’s family liked their photo at the book fair:
“Letti and Oscar both enjoyed choosing books from the book fair with their big sister to enjoy at home.”
We hope that you managed to get some great books. I wonder if your big sister helped you read the stories?
Joshua and Nancy’s Mum has been looking over our photos from the last few weeks.
“Joshua loved burns day, especially the irn bru 🤣 xx” and
“Joshua loves to do “cheers”” 😊 x”
She also liked the photos of Nancy working with friends to make our Chinese dragon.
“Nancy concentrating very well. Well done my baby girl” 😀 and “Nancy looks like she is waiting so patiently to have her turn at decorating with some glitter 😊 “
Thank you for taking the time to leave us comments. It’s good to know that our families are using the blog.
As we were disappointed that our families missed the opportunity for our reading together sessions last week, due to the adverse weather, we have rearranged the parent and child reading times for this Thursday 8th March (11.35 and 2.40), and Friday 9th March (11.35). We hope to see you then to share stories with your children.
Crue’s family has been enjoying the photos of the children doing their Daily Mile with Primary 6:
“Crue looks like he’s having fun”
They do really seem to all enjoy each other’s company and chat away the whole time. We have a few more activities planned with Primary 6 so I’m sure that they will enjoy themselves together again.
We are all missing the children, due to the Nursery and school closure, but it is important that everyone stays safe in these adverse weather conditions. We are looking forward to hearing what you have been doing in the snow when we return hopefully on Friday.
It would be great if you shared your stories here on the blog too – just click on ‘0 comments’ under our title above (“Share Your Stories”) to let us know what you have been doing at home.
We would like to remind you that Thursday 1st March (11.35 and 2.40), and Friday 2nd March (11.35) are the dates when parents are coming in to Nursery to read with their children. Thank you to those who have expressed an interest in this activity. We look forward to seeing you then.
We hope that those who participated in Mrs. Foster’s sports club for adults and children enjoyed themselves in last week’s initial session. We would like to remind you that the second session will take place tomorrow, Tuesday 27th February, from 3.00 until 4.00. Have fun everyone!
