We would like to say thank you to all those parents who donated books to the library that we hope to set up in Nursery for our families. Thank you also to those who have added their names to the list of volunteers. We would be delighted if more parents/carers could help as it would be great to have a rota of helpers working together. Please speak to staff if you would like to be involved. Eileen, our Family Learning Co-ordinator, will organise and label our books soon but we are happy to continue to take any donations as this will provide greater choice for the children. Thank you so much for your support.

Pre-Writing Skills
We were delighted to have so many parents joining us for our pre-writing workshop on Monday and hope that you all enjoyed the activities provided. We would like to thank Shona McGeorge and her team of Occupational Therapists, our Primary 1 teacher Miss Campbell and Eileen, our Family Learning Co-ordinator, for taking the time to provide an insight into the skills we are all trying to develop in the children to prepare them for writing. Shona kindly left a guide for pre-writing skills which everyone should now have in their trays. We hope that you find it helpful.
PEEP Group
Eileen, our Family Learning Co-ordinator, has left a message for everyone about her PEEP activities:
“If any nursery parents/carers are interested in coming to a PEEP group on a Monday afternoon or Thursday morning please let Nursery staff know”
These sessions are a great opportunity for you to enjoy a relaxing activity with your child and younger siblings are welcome to attend.
Stomping And Roaring
Eileen, our Family Learning Co-ordinator, has sent us a post about today’s PEEP activity.
“Today in our first PEEP session we stomped and roared like dinosaurs and painted dinosaur pictures with marshmallows and pom poms (and a little bit of glitter)”
That sounds like great fun and we love your artwork. Thank you to Eileen for organising PEEP for our families.

Story And Rhyme
Eileen, our Family Learning Co-ordinator, sent us these photos of her last Family Learning story and rhyme session on Thursday. Next term we will be doing PEEP, there will still be stories and rhymes but we will also be doing craft and play activities. More information has been sent out in the children’s trays and we hope that lots of you will be able to join in Eileen’s activities.
Rhyme And Story Time
Thank you to Eileen, our Family Learning Co-ordinator, for her Rhyme and Story sessions this term. It looks like our families have been enjoying her activities on a Thursday.
Hearts And Hugs
Eileen, our Family Learning Co-ordinator, has sent us photos from today’s Story and Rhyme session. She said, “Our Family Learning stories, rhymes and fun session this morning was all about Valentines Day. There were lots of hearts and hugs.”
It certainly looks like you’ve had good fun.
Story And Rhymes
We would like to remind you about our Story and Rhyme sessions starting back this Thursday 14th February from 9.15 – 10.00. Eileen, our Family Learning Co-ordinator, is looking forward to meeting you in the Family Room every Thursday from this week. All parents/carers and younger siblings are welcome.
Family Baking
Towards the end of term Eileen, our Family Learning Co-ordinator, organised a family Christmas baking session which was an opportunity to try out the oven in our new room. It was lovely to see so many of our families take part and we think that you all made a good job of your biscuits.
