Friendship Club Visit

This week we were very lucky to be invited back for a visit by the ladies and gentlemen of the Friendship Club in the Old Parish Church hall. As we had thoroughly enjoyed our previous visit, we were keen to make a return trip to entertain everyone with a selection of our Christmas songs. This group of children showed great confidence in an unfamiliar situation and did a super job of providing entertainment to those enjoying a Christmas lunch. It was wonderful to see young and old chatting together and we hope that those at the Friendship Club enjoyed their little visitors. The children were also very interested in the nativity scene outside the church so we spent a little time there talking about it. Thank you to everyone at the Friendship Club for your warm welcome and of course for the delicious snack. We hope to see you again in the future.

Annan Academy Visit

After experimenting with full sized musical instruments recently in the Rainbow Room, where lots of little bands were formed, the music department at Annan Academy kindly invited small groups to visit their music room to learn more about a range of different instruments. As you can see, this was a great experience and we would like to thank Mr. Brand and his pupils very much for their patience and time on our visits. We know that some of the children have now put trumpets and drums on their Santa list so they may well be experts by the time they reach Annan Academy as pupils.

Christmas Cutting

The children have been so busy in the art and craft areas lately that we now have super decorations everywhere. Have you noticed the recent addition of a Christmas tree in the corridor? Great cutting skills are evident from the girls and boys from the Raindrop Room on this piece of work. I wonder if they can find their own bauble?

The Nativity

As Christmas approaches, we have been developing the children’s awareness of the Christmas story and the role play area in the Rainbow Room has been transformed into a nativity scene. Through play they are showing an understanding of the story and many children are keen to take on different roles.

Music Music Everywhere

Musical instruments have been very popular in the Rainbow Room recently as the children have learned about various types of instruments and the sounds they make. Little bands have sprung up everywhere inspired by using real instruments and watching bands and orchestras on the Promethean board.
We hope that you enjoy the photos of our budding bands people confidently trying a new experience.
