Some of the children in the Rainbow Room have drawn pictures of the staff to illustrate their “Thinking Book”. We are sure you recognise us from these wonderful pictures. Well done Bethany and Kailey!

Graduation Congratulations
Finlay’s family would like to pass on their congratulations to you all on your performance at our recent graduation:
“A big well done to all the boys and girls on their graduation, you all sang and danced beautifully. Good luck to the boys and girls who will be going into P1 after the summer.”
We wish good luck to those moving on to P1 too. We’re sure you’ll have great fun and will continue to be fantastic learners.
Graduation Smiles
How proud we all were of the children at our graduation ceremony on Friday as they sang and danced to celebrate the end of their year in Nursery. Sometimes the children can become a little shy when faced with an audience but the 100 plus family members who came to watch them, in both the morning and afternoon, were entertained by confident, happy little performers. We hope that you were also impressed with the confident manner in which the children walked on stage to shake hands and receive their certificates. The children had been so excited to perform for their families and they certainly did not disappoint.
Thank you so much to everyone who came to our little ceremony and for all your support throughout the year.

Spring is Here
On our return to Nursery we have been learning about growth and the changes in spring. This has been reflected in the children’s paintings which have included lambs, chicks, trees full of blossom and some lovely daffodils. Maybe if we make enough pictures of spring, the weather will eventually realise what it’s meant to be doing?

Easter Egg Extravaganza
Eggs that had been transformed into bees, policemen, trains, rabbits … glittery eggs and painted eggs … the variety was amazing in our Easter egg display. Here’s a taster of some of the ideas brought in to Nursery. Well done to everyone who made such a fantastic effort – we loved them all.
Congratulations
Heckie’s Happy Healthy Week brought lots of different competitions which many of you entered. It was great to see your wonderful ideas for a sports person made out of fruit and vegetables, the poster competition and the healthy packed lunch design. Thanks to all the family members who helped the children enjoy these activities at home. We also had certificates for being the best Junior Fire Officer and for giving the best effort at the Keep Fit activity.
Primary 6 were very impressed with the Nursery entries and several children won prizes and certificates. Well done to all who entered and congratulations to those who were winners. Thank you again to Primary 6 for being so organised with awarding your prizes and for making Nursery children feel special.
Hints of Spring
Our post office and flower shop have been very popular over the past few weeks in each of the Nursery rooms. As the Winter displays have come down from the walls, the children, inspired by the flowers in our shop, have been creating brightly coloured pictures in the art and craft areas. We hope they cheer you up and make you think that Spring is not too far away.

Fantastic Work Neve!
As we continue to learn about our community, Neve decided to design her own street which we’re sure you’ll agree is fantastic. As well as producing a wonderful drawing, she has taken her time to carefully write the names of her buildings. Miss Wilson was as impressed as us and decided that Neve’s work should be displayed on the school achievement board. Well done, Neve! We hope you are as proud of your work as we are.

Bethany’s Dragon Travels to Ireland
Bethany’s family seemed to like her Chinese dragon and commented on her photo:
“Bethany made another Dragon for her Grandparents in Ireland. Her Aunty Sarah was so impressed she used it to inspire her Primary School students in her Afterschool Art Club. So those Dragons certainly have travelled far and near.
A big thankyou to all involved, you’re doing a great job!”
It’s great to hear that Bethany is acting as a Hecklegirth Dragon Ambassador. I wonder if Aunty Sarah’s children’s dragons were as good as yours? Keep up the good work Bethany!
