Dancing

Nancy’s family enjoyed the photos of the children trying out some Scottish dancing:

“Nancy loves to dance. What a great picture of Nancy enjoying dancing with Bethany 😊”

She certainly showed great enthusiasm for dancing. We are glad that you had fun with the Scottish music and dancing Nancy.

Terrific Tartan

Over the past week the children have been learning a little about Scotland and Robert Burns. We have been looking at tartan in the art area where some super work has been created and a display is now up in Nursery. As well as sticking different coloured strips to design tartan, they have been creating patterns with paint and different sizes of rollers so we thought that we would share this little gallery with you. I wonder if anyone can spot their own tartan? Click then click again on photos to see the artist’s name.

Dancing To Bagpipes

Bethany’s Mum posted a comment to say that she liked the photo of her dancing to Scottish music:

“Bethany loves the bagpipes it’s great to see her dancing and enjoying.”

She certainly looks very happy in that photo and she did love dancing along to the music. Great dancing Bethany!

The Sound Of Scottish Music

As part of our learning about Scotland, we put on some Scottish music this week and the children have loved it. They had great fun enthusiastically dancing to the sound of the pipes and pretending to march to the music while playing the drums. I wonder if any of them will take up Highland dancing or be part of a pipe band in the future?

Afternoon Performance

As promised, here are some photos of the afternoon children just before their Christmas celebration. Just like the morning children, they showed confidence in their performance and sang beautifully for their families despite having depleted numbers due to absences. Well done to everyone and thank you so much to all those who provided a wonderful audience for the children.

Proud Family

We have a lovely comment from Enid’s family about the children’s Christmas performance:

“We were so proud of Enid’s singing, full of joy & confidence. Such a pleasure to watch the children all enjoying themselves. Thank you”

We felt very proud of all the children too as most were not daunted by the large audience and showed themselves to be the ‘confident individuals’ and ‘effective contributors’ that we aim for. Thank you to all our families for making this a wonderful occasion for the children.

Christmas Celebration

We hope that, like us, you were very proud of all the children as they behaved and sang so beautifully in front of a big audience at our Christmas celebration yesterday. Huge thanks go to Mr. Bill Malone, Old Parish Church, and Mr. Palmer for joining us and to the many family members who helped to make this a special occasion for the children. Here are a few photos of the morning children as they prepared for their performance. We will post photos of the afternoon children soon.
