Performance Area

A performance area has been created in the Raindrop Room recently as the children have shown enthusiasm for forming little bands and using the microphones to perform to their friends. Here is a snapshot of the stage and audience one morning recently. As you can see, we have no shortage of enthusiastic performers and the children also enjoy being an audience.

Theatre Performance

You don’t need to use puppets to have fun with a puppet theatre as this group showed recently. It just took one little confident performer to take to the stage and quickly seats were gathered for an audience and the children were taking turns to perform in their little theatre. It’s great to see that the children’s confidence is growing to sing or say a rhyme in front of an audience. We love these impromptu performances.

Rainbow Pet Shop

It’s been all go in the Rainbow Room’s pet shop in the past week or two. The children decided what kind of shop they would like and, as this was the most popular choice, they discussed what we needed to make a good pet shop. They certainly came up with lots of great suggestions and everyone has loved visiting it.

Chinese New Year

With Chinese New Year being celebrated around the world this week, both Nursery rooms have experienced a range of activities as part of their learning about this special celebration. This little gallery shows the children in the Raindrop Room developing their fine motor skills through the use of tongs and chopsticks to pick up rice which was a fun and challenging activity. Some also made “lai see”, the lucky red envelopes, and attempted to copy some Chinese numbers. We will share photos of the children in the Rainbow Room soon as they too experienced a range of activities linked to Chinese New Year.

“Starry Night”

The children in the Rainbow Room have been looking at Vincent Van Gogh’s “Starry Night” as inspiration in the art area. They have been experimenting with paint on foil using cotton buds to create their own version of “Starry Night” and we love the ideas that they produced. Why not have a look in Nursery to see their work close up but we thought that we would share a little gallery here too?
