We hope that everyone enjoys the Christmas holiday with their family. Nursery is now closed until Thursday 4th January 2018 but I still have lots of recent photos to share, including a selection from our Christmas parties, so keep checking for an update as I will post them here over the next week or two.

Christmas Celebration
We hope that you are all looking forward to our Christmas celebration tomorrow, Monday 18th December. Morning parents can join us at 11.20 and afternoon parents at 2.20. The Nursery door will be opened for entry through the usual entrance and parents and family can park in the John Bell car park.
We are keeping our Christmas celebration informal to encourage the children to enjoy a relaxed and happy performance of the songs they have been learning. Mr. Bill Malone, from the Old Parish Church, has kindly agreed to join us and we are delighted that many of our families have indicated that they would like to be part of our celebration. As you can see, the children have been practising to make sure that you enjoy their songs. We look forward to seeing you tomorrow.
Family Learning
We would like to remind you that Family Learning Christmas activities will take place this week on Tuesday 12th December and Thursday 14th December. Eileen, our Family Learning Co-ordinator, has been planning some fun activities for you to enjoy with your children so we hope that lots of families can join in. Younger children are welcome too.
Come and Read
We would like to remind you that tomorrow, Thursday 30th November (11.35 and 2.40), and Friday 1st December (11.35) are the days when parents are coming in to Nursery to read with their children. Thank you to those who have expressed an interest in this activity. We look forward to seeing you then.
PEEP sessions
We would like to remind you that the PEEP sessions for children and families in the Sunshine Room start tomorrow, Tuesday 14th November, with Eileen, our Family Learning Co-ordinator. Eileen will join you for a fun activity from nine until ten and we hope that those participating enjoy this opportunity.
Parent Consultations
We would like to remind you that our parent consultations start on Monday 13th November. If you have not yet made an appointment to speak to your child’s key worker and would like to arrange a time, the available slots are on display on top of the children’s trays. If none of these appointments suit you, please speak to staff who will do their best to arrange an alternative time.
Final Date For Christmas Boxes
We would like to clarify that the last date for bringing Christmas boxes in to donate to Operation Christmas Child is Tuesday 14th November.
Apologies if we have given you the wrong date earlier in the term.
Special Books
We hope that you have enjoyed looking through the children’s special books with them at home. We would like to remind you to please return them tomorrow, Wednesday 8th November, along with the comment sheet which has been added to your child’s book as part of our ongoing evaluation.
Thank you to those who have already taken the time to share their thoughts with us about their child’s progress. We greatly value your views.
Spooky Or Sparkle Disco
We would like to remind you that the Hecklegirth Fundraisers are holding a “Spooky or Sparkle disco” tomorrow, 2nd November, in school. Nursery to Primary 2 children can come between 6.00 and 7.00. Entry is £1 and children must be accompanied by an adult. We hope that lots of you will be able to attend to enjoy the fun activities as well as the disco.
Dressing Up
As tomorrow is Hallowe’en, children can come to Nursery in fancy dress if they wish. Some of the children were having fun trying out our outfits at the end of last term.
