Parent Council

Hi All

Please see attached some information about Hecklegirth Parent Council, I have recently taken over as chairperson for the Parent Council alongside my existing role on the fundraising committee. I am trying to reach as many parents/carers within the school environment as possible to ensure everyone is receiving information. The next meeting will take place at 6pm in the school staffroom on Wednesday 6th November (hope to see you there).

If you need to contact the parent council you can do this via the school office, myself or email hecklegirthparentcouncil@gmail.com please also follow us on Facebook searching for Hecklegirth Primary School News.

If you need to contact for anything relating to fundraising you can do this via the school office, myself or email hecklegirthfundraisers@gmail.com please also follow us on Facebook searching for Hecklegirth Fundraisers.

Information for both is also available on the notice boards as you enter the school through the main door.

Thanks  Stacy Wigham

Hallowe’en

It was lovely to see everyone back in Nursery today and some took the chance to get in the mood for Hallowe’en. We would like to remind you that the Hallowe’en disco is on Wednesday night in the school hall from 6.00 – 7.00 for Nursery children with an entry of £1. An adult must stay with Nursery children.
As the school photographer will be in on Thursday 31st October, the children can choose to come to Nursery dressed up on Friday 1st November if they wish.

Start Of Term

We hope that you have had a lovely holiday with your families and look forward to seeing you all tomorrow, Monday 28th October, for the start of the new term. We will be open as normal from 8.00 a.m.
Our “Word of the Week” this week in the Rainbow Room will be ‘graph‘ while the Raindrop Room will use ‘Hallowe’en’ as their focus.

Start Of Term

We are looking forward to seeing everyone when Nursery starts on Wednesday 21st August. It will be lovely to see the children who are returning and to get to know all our new children and their families.
All children arriving at 8.00 or 8.30 should enter via the Rainbow Room. At 9.00-9.15 the separate entrances for each room will be open and again at 12.00-12.15 then 3.00 to collect those children going home at these times. If you are bringing or collecting a child at any other time between 9.15 and 3.00 please use the school office entrance then ring the Nursery bell to gain access. The Raindrop Room entrance will remain open beyond 3.15 for those staying later.
If this is your child’s first time in Nursery, we suggest he/she comes initially for a shorter session to help him/her to settle in. Please speak to staff about your planned collection times if choosing to do this. We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday.

Dates For Your Diary

We hope that you have all been enjoying your summer holidays spending time with your families. To help you plan your next holiday, we have put the dates for the new school year in our “Dates for Your Diary” link on the right under “Support Information”.
This link will be updated with more detail as the year progresses, once we have other dates in place, so all the information you need for your calendar will be there to refer to throughout the school year. We hope that this is helpful for you and that you enjoy the rest of your holidays.

Graduation Reminder

We are looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow (Wednesday) in the school hall for our little graduation to celebrate the end of our year. Please bring your child to Nursery at normal times and use the front door of the school when you return to the hall for our celebration at 10.45. We ask that you please park in the John Bell car park and not the staff car park. We hope that the boys and girls bring their good singing voices and we look forward to seeing you all.

Farmer’s Den

We would like to remind you that we will be at Farmer’s Den tomorrow, Monday 17th June, for the morning. Children who arrive at Nursery at 8.00 or 8.30 will be walked to Farmer’s Den by staff. All other children should meet us at Farmer’s Den at 9.00.

Children who go home at 12.00 should be collected from Farmer’s Den. Staff will then walk the remaining children back to Nursery where we have arranged for them to have a packed lunch from the school kitchen in place of their hot meal so that we can enjoy a picnic style lunch.

Snack at Farmer’s Den will be provided thanks to the generosity of Hecklegirth Friends who have also kindly paid for each child’s play session. As you can imagine, this amounts to a very large donation which we are extremely grateful for. We look forward to seeing you there.
