Graduation Smiles

How proud we all were of the children at our graduation ceremony on Friday as they sang and danced to celebrate the end of their year in Nursery. Sometimes the children can become a little shy when faced with an audience but the 100 plus family members who came to watch them, in both the morning and afternoon, were entertained by confident, happy little performers. We hope that you were also impressed with the confident manner in which the children walked on stage to shake hands and receive their certificates. The children had been so excited to perform for their families and they certainly did not disappoint.
Thank you so much to everyone who came to our little ceremony and for all your support throughout the year.

Move Up Day

We hope that everyone is looking forward to ‘Move Up Day’ at Hecklegirth tomorrow (27th June). As well as all the children moving to their new class for a visit, our new children are invited to come and play in Nursery. Please check your letter for details of times. We look forward to seeing lots of our new children tomorrow and hope that those visiting Primary 1 have a great time.

Farmer’s Den

Corey’s Mum made a comment on one of the photos from our recent summer outing:

“Corey had a brilliant time at the cinema and farmers den thank you to all the staff for giving the kids a lovely treat”

Amelia from Primary 6 also commented on our outing:

“It seems as if my amazing buddy Nate enjoyed it at farmers den !”

They certainly did seem to enjoy their day and everyone behaved beautifully.

Snack Time

It seems to have been so hectic in Nursery recently that the days are simply flying by. However, we did find time to visit the dining hall for our snack one day to give the children an idea of what it will be like when they move to Primary 1. As you can see they were all quite happy to enjoy something to eat in a different environment so this bodes well for the next exciting step of school lunches.

Tired But Happy!

Harli’s Mum made a photo comment on one of our trip photos:

“What a brilliant pic! Harli really enjoyed herself and was very tired on monday night after all the running about at Farmers Den!”

They do look very happy in that picture, don’t they? It’s not surprising that she was tired after her day out – what a lot of running about they all did.

End of Year Fun

Our recent end of year outing to the cinema followed by lunch and a play session at Farmer’s Den seemed to be very popular with both the morning and the afternoon children. Thank you to all those parents who came with us as volunteers and to staff at the cinema and Farmer’s Den who made us feel very welcome. The children certainly seemed suitably exhausted at the end of their busy day.

Playground Fun

Primary 6 are delighted that the Nursery children and their parents are pleased with their buddying skills. Harli’s Mum has added a comment which will please Chloe:

“It makes us very happy as parents to know theres an extra friendly face looking out for Harli as she starts “big school”, she’s already been watching out to see if she can spot Chloe in the playground in the morning and has taken great pride in telling friends and family about her buddy.”

Today art aprons went up to Primary 6 with the children so you could ask them at home what they were doing. We thought it was about time we put up a few more photos of the children with their buddies so here are some from one of their visits to the playground.

Thank You Buddies

We have had two more photo comments about our buddy activities. One is from Finlay’s Mum:

“I would just like to say thank you to Finlay’s Buddy Lauren, Finlay is extremely happy that you are his buddy and I think it is a great idea for Nursery children/parents to meet their buddies before moving into P1. Well done to all P6 for taking on this role, I am sure you will all do a brilliant job.”

Zak, one of our Primary 6 buddies, has also added a lovely comment:

“Me and my cute buddy Abbi we have had great fun with each other throughout the activities that have been prepared by my wonderful teacher Mrs Johnson. :-)”

Thank you everyone for all your feedback and keep up the good work Primary 6.

Comment

Kyle’s Mum has made a comment on one of our photos:

“Kyle is enjoying having a buddy he likes to go up to p6 and doing activities with noah. I think having a buddy will help kyle to move into p1 more easier.”

We’re glad that Kyle’s having fun. No doubt his buddy will do his best to make sure that he does everything he can to help Kyle settle into Primary 1.
