Staff from Enterprising DG will meet you tomorrow, Wednesday 10th October, to talk about the new menus being rolled out for our children next term. These will be of interest as, from January, the children will be entitled to a free lunch as part of the early access to 1140 hours. The menu is compliant with the “Setting The Table” document and both HMIe and Care Inspectorate recommendations.
A tasting session will follow a short presentation on the menus and nutritional advice. We will conclude the session with the children singing for you so there will be lots to enjoy. Nursery entrance will be open for an 11.15 and 2.15 start. We look forward to seeing you there. Here are some of the afternoon children having a little practice of their songs today.

Wonderful Smiles
We love the wonderful smiles on the faces of last week’s award winners. Very well done to both of you – we are really proud of your achievements.
Rollercoaster Ride
Most children love outdoor play and access it regularly. We simply provide the resources and the children’s imagination takes them on fantastic journeys which build their social skills, teamwork, creativity … and support their development in so many areas of the curriculum.
This little group demonstrated their confidence, co-operative skills and creativity when they climbed into the storage box and talked about where they would go and what they could do on their journey. After great discussion, they decided that this was a rollercoaster that they had made and they had such great fun whizzing along on the rollercoaster, waving to their friends, taking turns at the front and talking about places they had been where they had gone on fair rides. It’s amazing what a storage box can provide when a few imaginative children are added in.
Technologies
Some of the children have been developing their technologies skills as they learned how to safely use a hammer. They certainly experienced challenge as they had to follow instructions to stay safe, have an awareness of risk and show concentration and perseverance with this tricky activity. Hammering the nails into the wood and then positioning the elastic bands on their work developed the children’s motor skills and they experienced another area of technologies when they took their own photos of their work. There was a great sense of achievement after this activity and the children were very enthusiastic to try it again.
Award Winners
Very well done to these recent award winners. We feel sure that, just like us, your families are proud of your achievements.
Happy Families
Two of our parents have been enjoying photos of different recent activities in Nursery.
Evelyn’s family said, “looks like Evelyn is doing well in nursery. I love seeing pictures of her and that’s she’s safe near the fire. 🙂 xx “
We are pleased that you like our little snapshots of Nursery life. The children are certainly learning the rules of staying safe near fire and are becoming confident near fire.
Leo’s Mummy was one of those parents who participated in this week’s “Rhyme and Storytime” taster session:
“Leo and mummy had lots of fun at the rhyme session. Look forward to the next one 😊”
It certainly looked like good fun with Eileen. She is checking the times that suited people most and we are hoping that lots of our families will join in with our sessions.
Thank you both for visiting the blog and taking the time to leave us a comment.
Confident Individuals
Our younger children in the Sunshine Room have settled well into their new Nursery year and are experiencing a wide range of activities both indoors and outdoors. We love them joining the older children in the outdoor area where their confidence has grown considerably, their visits to the Rainbow Room are a great opportunity to interact with a wide circle of children and they are becoming increasingly independent in their own area of the Nursery. We hope that you enjoy this little gallery of our increasingly confident little children from the Sunshine Room.
Muddy Chocolate Cake
Alisha’s family has been looking at the photos of the children playing in the mud kitchen:
“Alisha told me she was making chocolate cake for all her friends. She loves getting all muddy .”
The chldren certainly make a lot of cake in that kitchen and love being creative outdoors. Thank you for taking the time to leave us a comment.
Settling In
Roman’s family has been looking at our recent photos:
“Glad Roman has settled in really well so pleased”
It’s great to hear that the children are happy which makes for happy families too. Thank you so much for visiting our blog and taking the time to leave us a comment. We look forward to hearing from more of our families soon.
