Shay’s Rhymes

Shay’s obviously doing a super job with his rhyming activity.
His Dad says, “Shay is really enjoying finding lots of words that rhyme and thought up all the items that rhyme that he brought into nursery on his own. Well done Shay.”
Thanks for bringing in your rhymes, Shay and well done for thinking of them yourself.

Finlay Enjoys Family Learning

Sounds like Finlay’s having good fun with the Family Learning bags.
“I chose the numbers bag last week and got a game called snail trail, I am very good at it, I have been beating my Mummy,. Daddy and my Brother at it.I wonder what I will choose this week??? I am really enjoying the bags so far. Thanks.”

Remember everyone can get an activity sack on a Thursday from Eileen, our Family Learning Co-ordinator. If you’re not sure where to go, just ask a member of staff or another parent. Tomorrow is also the Diwali activity with Eileen so we hope you all have fun.

Family Learning

Our learning this week is focussing on Diwali, the Hindu Festival of Lights. We would like to remind you that Eileen, our Family Learning Co-ordinator, is offering an activity linked to this on Thursday 15th  and Friday 16th November. You can come along with your child to the learning room where the activity bags are given out and have fun together. Younger brothers and sisters are welcome too.

Eileen has put a notice up on the Family Learning board in the corridor beside the Rainbow Room’s cloakroom – simply add your name in the
time slot that suits you to take part. We hope that lots of families enjoy this activity. It’s a great way to have fun with your child and perhaps make some new friends.

We are all very proud of them too! Keep up the good work children. Miss Wilson loves it when you visit her and she hears how clever you have been.

She said, “I liked the bit on my nose it was funny and I ate all my mallow up! I liked bobbin’ for apples aswell and having party food. I enjoyed dressing up and playing pass the parcel with the other boys and girls.”

We did have good fun, Harli, didn’t we? Thank you for your comments.

Finlay’s Comment

Thank you Finlay for adding a comment to your photo. We’re glad you had a good time.
Finlay said, “I had a fab time at the Hallowe’en party and all the boys and girls costumes were excellent and the teachers costumes were very scary. I also had a great time at the disco where I had a little dance,my Nana and Papa took me along and they had a great time too!”

Rain, Rain, Come Back Another Day

Water play was available on a large scale at the end of last term. As the rain seemed to have forgotten to stop, a huge puddle kept growing and growing in our garden. Unlike most adults, of course, the children simply found this very exciting and were keen to play in it.
As you can see from the photos, a lot of learning can happen with a few ducks, some boats, guttering and water wheels. We even managed to make rainbow bubbles with a little touch of washing up liquid. The children certainly showed themselves to be successful learners and effective contributors as they worked together to solve lots of problems and talk about their findings. We hope that the rain does come back another day as it provided such a fun learning experience.

Good Listeners

The focus this week throughout the school has been on good listening and on Monday morning the Rainbow Room children attended assembly for the first time where they learned about the importance of good listening skills.
Everyone in Nursery has been trying really hard to use their listening ears to help them learn and on Friday these three children were delighted to receive Star Award certificates from Miss Wilson for being particularly good listeners. Well done and keep up the good work.
