You can’t beat a fire for a chat and a tasty treat on a chilly day and the Raindrop Room certainly seemed to enjoy their recent outdoor cooking experience. Marshmallows and toast were on offer and most children enjoyed cooking their own, showing good listening skills to stay safe.
Hearts And Hugs
Eileen, our Family Learning Co-ordinator, has sent us photos from today’s Story and Rhyme session. She said, “Our Family Learning stories, rhymes and fun session this morning was all about Valentines Day. There were lots of hearts and hugs.”
It certainly looks like you’ve had good fun.
Shape Hunt
With a recent focus on shape in the Rainbow Room, some of the children took a walk round part of the school to see if they could find any shapes in their environment. It was amazing how many shapes this little group found and they even took most of the shape photos themselves. Great work!
Disco Time
It’s our Valentine’s Disco tonight from 6.00 until 7.30. Entry is £1 and Nursery children are all welcome provided an adult stays with them. We hope to see lots of you there having fun.
Story And Rhymes
We would like to remind you about our Story and Rhyme sessions starting back this Thursday 14th February from 9.15 – 10.00. Eileen, our Family Learning Co-ordinator, is looking forward to meeting you in the Family Room every Thursday from this week. All parents/carers and younger siblings are welcome.
Frosty Football
Regardless of weather, most children love outdoor play and a recent frosty morning provided a small group with the opportunity to play football on the school field to keep warm. When football lost their interest, some decided that it was frosty enough to try making snow angels. A fun morning was certainly had by those happy to brave the cold.
Fun Food Tasting
As well as lots of great learning activities linked to Chinese New Year, the children in both our Nursery rooms had a taste of Chinese food as part of their experience. Noodles were tricky to manage but the children persevered and had good fun sampling the different foods they were offered.
Garden Paint Work
We may still be in the depths of Winter but our thoughts have begun to turn to warmer weather and some of the children in the Rainbow Room have been having a little tidy of the garden area in preparation for Spring. Great work those who helped – your boxes look a lot better now.
Congratulations
Huge congratulations go to these recent award winners. Very well done all of you! You thoroughly deserved your certificates.
Word Of The Week
“Graph” will be “Word of the Week” for the Rainbow Room this week as they develop their skills at recording data. The children have begun to record the weather recently on a chart and will now be looking at making graphs linked to snack choices. The Raindrop Room will be learning to use the word “lantern” as they continue to talk about Chinese New Year. I wonder if anyone will be able to make a lantern in the Raindrop Room?
