We would like to remind you that class photos will be taken tomorrow, 4th March, at 11.00. If your child would not normally be in Nursery at this time you are welcome to bring him/her in to join in the photo.
Tasting Time
There is so much learning happens in the snack area and recently the Rainbow Room used this area to focus on tasting different foods and recording their likes and dislikes on a graph, developing the children’s skills in Numeracy and Mathematics as well as Health and Wellbeing. The children tasted a range of fruit and then vegetables to find out the most popular as they recorded their preferred choices then learned how to understand their recordings.
Book Fair Visit
Some of the children paid a little visit to the Book Fair in school this week and enjoyed having a look at all the super books on display. It was great to see the children enthusiastic about stories and some told their families about the books they were interested in. Well done boys and girls for your super behaviour and manners in the wider school environment.
Ahoy There
We have had a few pirates in Nursery recently as the children used their imagination outdoors with the materials that they could find. These crates certainly seem to have caught their interest and the children always seem to be able to create an exciting adventure from basic materials. We even had a plank for them to walk. Happy travels young pirates.
Theatre Performance
You don’t need to use puppets to have fun with a puppet theatre as this group showed recently. It just took one little confident performer to take to the stage and quickly seats were gathered for an audience and the children were taking turns to perform in their little theatre. It’s great to see that the children’s confidence is growing to sing or say a rhyme in front of an audience. We love these impromptu performances.
Award Winners
Very well done to our most recent award winners. We are very proud of you and hope that you keep up the great work.
Enrolment
Wednesday and Thursday (27th and 28th February) of this week are enrolment days for children who will attend Nursery in the next academic year. As well as new children, current children returning to Nursery next year will also need to complete a new enrolment form.
Please come along to the school office with your child’s birth certificate and proof of address to complete an enrolment form. Please check the name of your Health Visitor, if you are unsure, as you will need this as part of the enrolment process.
Rainbow Pet Shop
It’s been all go in the Rainbow Room’s pet shop in the past week or two. The children decided what kind of shop they would like and, as this was the most popular choice, they discussed what we needed to make a good pet shop. They certainly came up with lots of great suggestions and everyone has loved visiting it.
Chinese Dining
Our role play areas change according to our children’s interests and the recent enthusiasm for learning about Chinese New Year led to the Raindrop Room having a Chinese restaurant. There were some great meals served up and lots of diners calling in to enjoy them.
