Huge congratulations to our most recent award winners. What a lovely way to end the term for you both. Very well done!
Great Concentration
Tilly’s family has been looking at the photos of the children making their chocolate cakes:
“Loving the face of concentration! Tilly loved making the Easter nest cakes! However, the highlight had to be devouring it in the car on the way home!!!”
We didn’t think that most of those cakes would manage to reach home but it’s good that Tilly enjoyed the product of her hard work.
Chocolate Nests Take Two
Just like the children in the Rainbow Room, those in the Raindrop Room were very busy towards the end of term making chocolate nests. I wonder if any of you will make cakes at home when you are on holiday?
Chocolate Nests
It was a very busy end to the term with lots of different activities for the children. Here some of those in the Rainbow Room are busy making their chocolate nests, learning about melting and measuring as they use the microwave to melt their chocolate and count out the various ingredients. We hope that they tasted as good as they looked.
Friendship Group
A small group of our children visited the Old Parish Church hall on Monday to entertain the ladies and gentlemen of the friendship club. The children showed great maturity to introduce themselves on stage and to perform a few favourite songs to an enthusiastic audience. One lady was celebrating a very special birthday and was delighted to receive a card and hear “Happy Birthday” sung by our little group.
Thank you to everyone at the friendship club for their warm welcome, their kind applause and, of course, for the delicious snack which was a lovely treat. This was a great opportunity for the children to perform to an audience and we appreciate your kind invitation.

Big Pedal Fun Day
Tuesday was Big Pedal Fun Day for everyone at Hecklegirth as the children brought bikes and scooters to participate in great fun activities in the school playground under the guidance of some super volunteers. The children showed great confidence and enthusiasm to try out the challenges set for them and we would like to thank everyone who helped to organise this event and gave up their own time. The children had super fun and what a great way to keep fit and healthy. Let’s hope that they can have lots of fun in the holidays on their bikes and scooters.
Holidays
We hope that everyone is looking forward to a lovely Spring holiday with their family. Nursery is now closed until Tuesday 23rd April but we still have lots of memories to share from last term so keep an eye on our blog for updates over the holidays. We hope that the sun shines over the next two weeks and that you all have a great break.
Strawberries, Raspberries And Yoghurt
Ellie’s family has left us a message on our post about the Big Pedal breakfast:
“Thank you for Ellie’s healthy Big Pedal breakfast. She loved the strawberries, raspberries and yogurt.”
It did look delicious! I’m glad that you enjoyed it Ellie and well done for bringing your bike to Nursery.
Visitor Numbers
After setting up our blog in October 2010 to provide an opportunity for families to gain an insight into the life of Nursery, we added a counter to measure the number of visitors to our site. Unfortunately, after a few years, there were problems with this so in October 2015 we added a new counter to monitor visitor numbers and we are delighted to say that we have recently passed the mark of 40 000 visitors in that time.
If you click on the small map, further down this page on the right, then click on ‘Locations’, you can see that we have had visitors from 55 countries which is amazing.
We really appreciate the comments on our posts as this, hopefully, helps to make it a fun, shared site for everyone. Thank you for your support in keeping our blog active. We hope that you find it helpful and informative.
Big Pedal Breakfast
As well as Big Pedal Fun Day on Tuesday, some of our families enjoyed the Big Pedal breakfast today along with lots of children from our school. What a lovely start it was to the day, enjoying breakfast all together in the school dinner hall. We hope that those who took part enjoyed the atmosphere and, of course, their breakfast. We have lots of photos of the children on their bikes and will post them at some point soon.
