Growing Seeds

As we begun our learning about growing and to talk about the changing seasons at the end of last term, the children in the Rainbow Room planted cress seeds. They showed great care with their seeds and many showed good knowledge of what they needed to do to make them grow. The good thing about cress is that it grows very quickly so we soon had a little box to taste with our snack and, of course, we all know that things you make yourself always taste better.

Steam Train

Many of the children in Nursery are interested in trains and our train set is one of our most popular resources so when we heard that a steam train would be passing through Annan at the end of last week we decided to try to catch a glimpse of it. Some of the children went a walk to Annan station and some watched for the train from the playground and we were not disappointed when it sped past looking very impressive.

Balancing And Jumping

The children’s gross motor skills are one of the areas of focus in outdoor play and this little group of children showed increasing control of balancing and jumping, as well as turn-taking skills, as they enjoyed an obstacle course in the garden. It is great to see their perseverance when activities are challenging but they are determined to try their best.
