We seem to have had so many activities to share lately that we are still catching up with a few from last term. This little gallery gives you a feel for the Spring flowers that children in the Raindrop Room created as they began to talk about the changing season.
Growing Seeds
As we begun our learning about growing and to talk about the changing seasons at the end of last term, the children in the Rainbow Room planted cress seeds. They showed great care with their seeds and many showed good knowledge of what they needed to do to make them grow. The good thing about cress is that it grows very quickly so we soon had a little box to taste with our snack and, of course, we all know that things you make yourself always taste better.
Steam Train
Many of the children in Nursery are interested in trains and our train set is one of our most popular resources so when we heard that a steam train would be passing through Annan at the end of last week we decided to try to catch a glimpse of it. Some of the children went a walk to Annan station and some watched for the train from the playground and we were not disappointed when it sped past looking very impressive.

Congratulations
Huge congratulations to our recent award winners who are looking very happy with their certificates. Well done both of you. We are sure that your families will be as proud of you as we are.
Good Fun
Alex G.’s family has been looking at the photos of the children enjoying our new tunnel:
“Alex says the green tunnel is good fun!”
It’s great to hear that you’re having fun playing in the big tunnel Alex. Let’s hope that we get lots of lovely weather soon to help us enjoy our outdoor area.
Word Of The Week
“Word of the Week” will be ‘race’ in the Raindrop Room and ‘sport’ for those in the Rainbow Room as we prepare for our Fun Activity Event next week.
Balancing And Jumping
The children’s gross motor skills are one of the areas of focus in outdoor play and this little group of children showed increasing control of balancing and jumping, as well as turn-taking skills, as they enjoyed an obstacle course in the garden. It is great to see their perseverance when activities are challenging but they are determined to try their best.
