Please note the change to the times for this week’s disco. It will now be held on Friday 21st June between 5.45 and 7.15. Entry is £1 and Nursery children should be accompanied by an adult. We hope to see lots of you there.
Proud Family
Leo’s family has been looking at the photo of him with his certificate:
“Leo was so pleased with his certificate all his family are very proud of him.”
Very well done Leo! You certainly deserved your certificate.
Taekwondo Taster
As part of our Health Week activities, the children in the Rainbow Room enjoyed learning about taekwondo which brought lots of smiles to their faces.
Farmer’s Den
We would like to remind you that we will be at Farmer’s Den tomorrow, Monday 17th June, for the morning. Children who arrive at Nursery at 8.00 or 8.30 will be walked to Farmer’s Den by staff. All other children should meet us at Farmer’s Den at 9.00.
Children who go home at 12.00 should be collected from Farmer’s Den. Staff will then walk the remaining children back to Nursery where we have arranged for them to have a packed lunch from the school kitchen in place of their hot meal so that we can enjoy a picnic style lunch.
Snack at Farmer’s Den will be provided thanks to the generosity of Hecklegirth Friends who have also kindly paid for each child’s play session. As you can imagine, this amounts to a very large donation which we are extremely grateful for. We look forward to seeing you there.
Award Winners
Huge congratulations to these recent award winners. We feel sure that your families will be very proud of you.
Word of The Week
The Rainbow Room has chosen ‘hygiene’ as their “Word of the Week” while the Raindrop Room is learning to use the word ‘graduation’.
Health Week
Health Week has not been blessed with the best of weather but some of the children braved the elements earlier in the week to take part in Anklebiters and a range of Potted Sports activities organised by Primary 6 on the school field. The children listened well to follow instructions and thoroughly enjoyed their experiences. Thank you to all those who provided such fun for the children in Nursery.
Bye Bye Butterflies
After caring for their little butterflies, the children in the Rainbow Room finally released them after observing them so closely from being little caterpillars. Although they did not seem keen to leave us, Miss Kerr gave them a helping hand to settle on our plants in the outdoor area which gave everyone a chance to have a close look at our little butterflies before we waved them goodbye.
Football Fun
Our first activity on Monday in the whole school Health Week was actually led by Aoife’s Daddy. Who better to learn football skills from than a professional footballer and it’s even better if it’s one of our parents? As you can see, the children had great fun and tried their penalty shooting skills against a “real” goalkeeper. Thank you to Aoife’s Daddy – everyone thoroughly enjoyed their time with you.

Fantastic Idea
Jasmin’s family has been looking at the photos of the castle that the children created:
“This was a fantastic idea, Jasmin really enjoys the role play corner and the different things it transforms in to.”
The children were certainly very involved in the planning and creation of their castle which, of course, makes it very popular.
