We’re glad that he’s happy and settled. It’s amazing how quickly the children settle in to Nursery life.
Fifteen new children joined us this week and they are all beginning to settle well into Nursery life. They are becoming familiar with the routines and are growing in confidence to try out a range of activities as you can see from our photos. We hope that our new families enjoy using our blog to get a feel for life in Hecklegirth Nursery. Click then click again on the photos to make them bigger.
We would like to remind you that enrolment for pupils due to start Primary 1 in August 2015 will be on Tuesday 13th and Wednesday 14th January 2015 at your child’s catchment school. If you wish your child to attend a school other than his/her catchment school, there is an option to make this request on the enrolment form.
When enrolling their child, parents/carers should bring with them their son/daughter’s birth certificate and proof of address, e.g. a utility bill or bank statement.
Monday 5th January will be the start of term when we look forward to seeing everyone again. Lots of new children will also be getting ready for their first day and we feel sure that you will make them feel welcome in our Nursery. They will be excited to be starting Nursery and looking forward to making new friends so we hope that this is the beginning of a happy experience for them.
Our morning session will have a soft start, as usual, between 8.45 and 9.10. The afternoon session will begin at 12.15. We hope that you enjoy the rest of your holiday and we will see you all on Monday.
It’s been a busy few weeks in the lead up to Christmas. As well as preparing for our Christmas celebration and having fun at our parties, the children enjoyed a variety of Christmas activities in the craft area. Here are a few photos of them busy making reindeer food and tree decorations from bread. We hope that your trees look lovely with their new decorations and don’t forget to put your reindeer food out tonight boys and girls – hopefully all that glitter will help Rudolph and his friends find their way.

The children look so happy in these photos. We think they were starting to realise that Christmas is getting close.
Our last day before the Christmas holiday was “Christmas Jumper Day” and lots of you joined in with the festive fun. Those fantastic jumpers seemed to put a smile on everyone’s face and you all put us in the mood for Christmas.
Mollie’s Mum was pleased with the book hamper she won:
“The book hamper was wonderful, thank you so much! Mollie was very happy indeed.”
She also left us a comment about our Christmas performance:
“What lovely singing! I loved seeing Mollie all dressed up and enjoying singing songs with all the afternoon boys and girls.”
We were all very proud of all the children who performed so well in front of a very big audience.
We have some photos of the children as they prepared for our Christmas celebration with their families. We would like to thank everyone who donated prizes to the Nursery red hampers as part of our school and Nursery fundraising activity. Your generosity has overwhelmed us as we were able to make four large hampers from all your donations. It was amazing the range of red gifts that we received. The prize winning sheets were sold by Willow, Joe H., Fay and Eden so well done to those prize winners. Mollie was also lucky enough to win the bonus book hamper. We hope that you enjoy your lovely hampers and thank all those who contributed through donations and by selling squares. We appreciate your support.
