We hope that some of you will be able to participate in our Parent and Child Sports Club open to Nursery to Primary 2 pupils and a parent/carer. Mrs. Foster, our P.E. teacher has kindly agreed to run this for four Tuesdays from 3.00 – 4.00p.m commencing 20th February. This club will introduce you and your child to rugby, netball, gymnastics and athletics, giving you ideas on how to enjoy sport together. Please return the reply slip by Monday 5th February to Nursery staff if you would like to join in.
Keep Nursery Tidy
Our recent “Keep Nursery Tidy” monitors have been doing a great job reminding everyone about the importance of tidying away after finishing with an activity and they have been happy to help with all the little jobs themselves too. Let’s hope that all the boys and girls help our monitors each week to look after our equipment and help to tidy it away.
Congratulations
Parent and Child Reading
We would like to remind you that today, Thursday 1st February (11.35 and 2.40), and Friday 2nd February (11.35) are the sessions when parents/carers are invited in to Nursery to read with their children. Thank you to those who have expressed an interest in this activity. We look forward to seeing you.
Burns Day Take Two
As promised, we wanted to share some photos from our afternoon Burns celebration. As you can see, the children looked great wearing tartan and most were keen to sample the shortbread, tattie scones, cheese and Irn Bru.
Burns Day
Last week we celebrated Burns Day with shortbread, tattie scones and cheese and, of course, Irn Bru. We appreciate everyone making a super effort to provide the children with ‘a touch o’ tartan’ – we thought that they looked wonderful. Here you can see some of the morning children enjoying their celebration. Afternoon photos will follow soon.
Confident Individuals
Brooke’s family has been looking of the photos of Primary 6 visiting the Nursery:
“What a lovely photo of Brooke looking so confident and so happy in talking to one of the buddies out in the garden 😀”
It is lovely to see the older children building good relationships with our children.
Buddy Comments
Both parents and buddies have been looking at the photos of Primary 6 playing with our Nursery children.
Joshua’s family said, “Fun in the sand box. Joshua looks like he’s having lots of fun😊”
One of our Primary 6 pupils, left a comment saying,“Cute Thanks Nursery Team xx💝” and another of our parents commented, “What a lovely photo! 😊 “ of one of our children looking at a story with an older pupil.
Thank you to parents and children for taking the time to leaving us comments. We look forward to lots more visits from Primary 6.
Happy Smiles
Just look at the happy smiles of last week’s award winners! Well done to both of you. You really deserved your certificates.
Dancing
Nancy’s family enjoyed the photos of the children trying out some Scottish dancing:
“Nancy loves to dance. What a great picture of Nancy enjoying dancing with Bethany 😊”
She certainly showed great enthusiasm for dancing. We are glad that you had fun with the Scottish music and dancing Nancy.
