Christmas Post

The Christmas post boxes are in place in Nursery. If your child wants to give out Christmas cards to friends, they can post them here and we will make sure that they are distributed in their trays.

Make Your Own Tree

Not content with just a Christmas tree indoors, the children in the Raindrop Room found a metal frame in the garden and created their own outdoor tree too. We think that they made a great job of it.

We would like to remind you about the official opening of our library on Thursday 5th December between 9.00 and 9.45.
We are starting a “Reading Is Fun Together” project to go along with our library. Thanks to a kind donation from the Hecklegirth Fundraisers, we have beautiful teddies which need temporary homes (teddies will be returned to Nursery at the end of the year). These teddies need to be read to every day, and we hope your child will enjoy having a teddy/buddy to listen to stories with. The mince pies are bought and our little teddies are waiting to make friends with your child. We look forward to seeing you on Thursday morning for the official opening of our project.

Christmas Preparations

As well as those in the Rainbow Room, the children in the Raindrop Room have been busy decorating their room for Christmas. They decided that they wanted to wrap their own parcels to put at the bottom of the tree and showed good fine motor control to do this successfully. The decorated tree now stands in the role play area as part of a cosy Christmas scene.

Christmas arrived on Friday afternoon in the Rainbow Room when the Christmas tree appeared and the children worked together to decorate it. Well done boys and girls – we think that you did a super job.

Word Of The Week

The Raindrop Room will have ‘shape’ as their “Word of the Week” while the Rainbow Room will focus on ‘village’ as they continue to work on making their own village.

STEM Ambassadors

Miss Ash, a Science teacher at Annan Academy, recently brought Senior and Junior STEM Ambassadors to engage our children in a range of fun activities. This opportunity allowed our pupils to access different people from the community and to see for themselves that both boys and girls can become scientists. Some of the secondary pupils had been in our Nursery themselves as pupils so it was helpful to build an understanding that this can be an aspiration for them all in the future.
As you can see, everyone loved participating in all the experiments so we would like to say a huge ‘thank you’ to Miss Ash and all her STEM Ambassadors for their time and patience. We are looking forward to your return visit soon when you will be visiting the Rainbow Room where you will no doubt inspire those children to develop their learning in this area.
