Musical Visitors
Some of our children enjoyed a performance on Friday by a harpist and a saxophonist in the school hall. This was a wonderful opportunity for them to hear a performance by very talented musicians and we would like to thank Oliver and Hugh for this fantastic experience. Your performance had a genuine impact on our children.
Award Winner
Tom’s Shells
We would like to thank Tom’s family for bringing in lots of beautiful shells for the children to decorate. Many of the children in the Rainbow Room have had great fun designing their shells which we hope to display in the outdoor area. Thank you for your kind gift. We hope that you are pleased with the children’s efforts.
Winter
The children in the Raindrop Room have been experimenting with a range of resources in the Art and Craft area to create winter pictures. I wonder if anyone can spot their work?
PEEP
We would like to remind you that Eileen, our Lifelong learning Co-ordinator, will be starting her PEEP sessions tomorrow, 16th January, between 9.00 and 10.00. She looks forward to seeing you then. Younger siblings are welcome.
Winter Trees
We are spending time discussing the changing season and what the signs of winter are. As part of this discussion, some of the children in the Rainbow Room created some beautiful artwork depicting trees in winter. Have a look on the wall in Nursery at the children’s beautiful display.
Sharing
The children in the Rainbow Room have been talking about sharing – who they share with, what they share and what they do not like about sharing. We would like to share some of their thoughts.
Primrose: I share with my sister. We share dolls.
Berrie: I share with Frankie. I don’t like to share my Barbies because she doesn’t share hers.
Layla: I share my ‘Greedy Granny’ game with Mummy and Daddy.
Euan: I share with Arthur and Isaac.
Maja: I share with Olivia at the shops.
Poppy: I share my cars with Alfie.
Zack: I share my bike with Kaius and Isaac.
Freddie: I share toys in Nursery with Tom and Jackson.
Sophie G.: I share with Belle. I share Mack and Tombliboo.

Isaac M.: I share things with Euan.
Millie: I share my bike with Teddie.
Alex: I share my Lightning McQueen toys with Finlay.
Tom: I share with all my family. I share all my toys with Jackson and Freddie. I won’t share my drum kit and guitar – I don’t want them to get dirty.

Paisley S.: I share my bunny with Priya.
Primary 1 Enrolment
We would like to remind you that Primary 1 enrolment takes place tomorrow, Monday 13th and Tuesday 14th January for children who will be five years old by the end of February 2020. You should enrol at your catchment school between 9.00 and 3.30. If you wish to apply for a place at another primary school, please inform staff at your catchment school and you will be given a Placement Request Form when enrolling. If you are unsure of your catchment school, please use the “find the nearest” link on the www.dumgal.gov.uk website.
You should take your child’s birth certificate together with proof that you live permanently at your address, for example, Council Tax bill, recent utility bill or bank statement.
If you have any queries regarding the enrolment, please speak to Nursery staff or contact the school office.
Word Of The Week
The Raindrop Room has chosen ‘rules’ as their “Word of the Week” as they help our new children to settle in and understand our expectations and routines. The Rainbow Room will be focussing on the word ‘winter’ as they talk about the changing season.
