Stay And Play
The children love it when an adult from one of our families comes in to play and it was no exception when Skye’s Mummy stayed to help us bake scones. She gave the children lots of tips, as she often makes scones at home, so some delicious scones were produced in our kitchen that day.
We would love it if lots of grown-ups from our families stayed to play. You don’t have to provide an activity, simply join in the play and have fun to experience what a typical session is like for your child in Nursery. Why not just stay for an hour or so when you drop your child off or just pop in for a quick visit when you have a little free time? The children and staff would love you to stay and play any day.
Proud Parents
Emily’s family is delighted with her recent award:

Balance Challenge
Friday gymnastics continues this term and the children are now showing increasing confidence in their skills. This group was working on balancing which can be challenging for some but all the children showed themselves to be confident individuals by ‘having a go’ under the guidance of adults. It’s great to see the children confident in the wider school environment too as some can find this initially daunting.
Proud Boy
Alex’s family is pleased to see the photo of him with his certificate and left us a comment:
“Alex is very proud of his certificate!”
You certainly deserve that certificate Alex and we are all proud of you too.
Pancake Fun
This little group of children enjoyed getting into the spirit of Pancake Day earlier this week. We imagine that it was a little messier than they are used to experiencing at home but they certainly had great fun creating their own pancakes.

Creative Crafts
Creativity and imagination are important attributes that we aspire to for our children and these children certainly impressed us with their efforts in the craft area. Having decided that they wanted to play with guitars, they simply investigated the materials available in the craft area and created their own super guitars which provided endless play opportunities.
Fairy Homes
It seems that the children in the Rainbow Room think fairies may have been visiting our garden so they decided to make homes for them. As you can see, the art area and outdoors were very busy as the children discussed their designs and created some wonderful fairy houses, using paint and glitter.
Fences and stepping stones required some careful work but they showed good fine motor control to create these little additions to the scene. Once the children had set out all their work, including the shells that had been painted recently, it looked like a very welcoming place for local fairies to live. We hope that they are impressed with their new homes.
Nursery Enrolment
Wednesday and Thursday (26th and 27th February) of this week are enrolment days for children who will attend Nursery in the next academic year. As well as new children, current children returning to Nursery next year will also need to complete a new enrolment form.
Please come along to the school office with your child’s birth certificate and proof of address to complete an enrolment form. Please check the name of your Health Visitor, if you are unsure, as you will need this as part of the enrolment process.
Nursery Library
This is just a reminder to all parents and carers that the Nursery library is open weekly. The Rainbow Room can access the library every Wednesday 9.00 – 9.15 and the Raindrop Room on a Thursday at the same times. If your child is not in Nursery at these times, please speak to staff and we can arrange books to be changed at a different time.
We hope that all children who borrow books are enjoying reading stories to their adopted teddy bears. We still have lots of bears who would love a new home full of lots of cuddles and stories. We look forward to seeing you all at the library this week.
