Joe’s Mum was impressed with some of your scissor skills:
“wow ! Joe and I looked at all the pictures today – fantastic cutting !!”
Lots of children have been working hard to improve their skills this week. Well done everyone! Keep up the good work.

Summer’s Mum commented on the photo of her adding her numbers from home to our display:
“Summer had fun saying ‘was just like the number jacks on c’beebies'”
Well done Summer for bringing your numbers in to Nursery.
You may have noticed that recent posts (since September 19th) have disappeared from our blog. This is due to an upgrading of the system which was planned for today. I hope to be able to reinstate these posts over the next few days so, if you’re concerned that you’ve missed a photo or post involving your child, keep dropping in here and it should reappear soon. Fingers crossed that I manage this.
The craft area has been particularly busy this week as our learning has focussed on developing fine motor control, particularly when using scissors. The children are all at different stages of development but most have shown great motivation to work on holding the scissors correctly and to control them when cutting. We hope that they will enjoy further developing those skills at home. Here is a selection of their work from this week.
Ben’s Mum enjoyed the recent photos of Ben on the blog:
“Well done Ben! We had fun cutting out letters and numbers from old magazines.”
“Wow that looks fantastic, great job everyone!” (painting the raised beds in the garden)
Torrin’s Mum also left us a comment about the recent Family Learning activity:
“Imoen and I just loved getting to spend some crafty time with Torrin and the other children making canvas squares. Its been a joy to be a part of his first term at Nursery :)”
A team of painters was busy in the garden last week as we decided, once we had lifted the vegetables, that our raised beds were looking a little worse for wear. As you can see, they set about the task with great enthusiasm. Well done painting team – you did a super job working well together.
Callum’s Mum commented on his photo showing his number display he made at home:
“Callum loved making his poster, cutting and sticking the different parts.”
You made a really good job of it Callum. I liked how you told us what your family’s favourite numbers were. Well done!
Well done to those children who have brought letters and numbers from home for our display. Our display sheets are filling up now but there’s still room if anyone else wants to bring more in to Nursery. Remember to keep an eye out for letters and numbers when you are out and about – some of you are getting good at telling the difference between them.
It’s great that you are joining in with our blog. Thank you very much for sending us comments. Two families have enjoyed our outdoor learning photos:
“Kacey looks like she’s having fun.”
“It’s nice to see all the children enjoying the good weather. Callum always says that playing outside is one of his favourite parts of nursery.”
I wonder what other children enjoy best? We’d love it if you left us a comment about their favourite activity.
