Harvest Celebration

Thank you to Rev. McGougan and to all afternoon family and friends who attended our little Harvest celebration today. Those well deserved cheers and smiles meant a lot to the children who performed so well to a large audience. They certainly showed themselves to be those ‘confident individuals’ and ‘effective contributors’ that we want them to become. We are sure that you felt as proud of them as we did. Thank you also for your generous donations which will be much appreciated by local charities.

Thank You

Eileen Johnstone, our Family Learning Co-ordinator, has left a message:

“I want to thank everyone who helped me to check the games and books for the activity bags – it usually takes me weeks to do it all. I am really pleased that the bags are ready to go out after the October holiday. I will send a letter out next week with information about borrowing and returning bags.”

Normal Service Resumed

Today’s upgrading of the system caused all posts since September 19th to disappear from our blog. Hopefully I have now managed to reinstate most of them although unfortunately comments you have made since that date are now lost. Apologies if any posts have been missed (I have done my best) but new ones will now continue to appear as previously so your child may make an appearance again soon. The comments facility is now working again so we look forward to hearing from you soon.

Harvest Celebration

Thank you so much to everyone who has contributed to our Harvest collection which will be delivered to local charities. You can see the Rainbow Room children in front of all the wonderful donations just before their celebration today. Thank you also to Rev. McGougan for being part of our Harvest celebration and to all the family and friends who provided a super audience for the children’s performance.
We look forward to seeing our afternoon families tomorrow and would again like to thank you all for your generosity.

A Horse’s Palace

Good teamwork worked wonders to build a den in the garden last week. It started out as “a den” then became “a horse’s palace” and finally “a den for horses and people” but everyone seemed quite pleased with the finished product regardless of the name of it. There’s nothing better than sitting back and relaxing when you’ve made something yourself.

Singing Practice

Dylan’s family is looking forward to the children’s singing tomorrow. They enjoyed the photos of them practising:

“Awww, they look like they’re having fun! Looking forward to hearing them all sing tomorrow.”

The children have been really enthusiastic about learning their songs so they will be excited to perform them to everyone I’m sure.

Harvest Celebration

Rev. McGougan is looking forward to joining us for our Harvest celebration this week. Please remember that our morning celebration is on Thursday 2nd October at 11.30 and Rev. McGougan will join the afternoon children and their families on Friday 3rd October at 2.40. This is an informal gathering in the Nursery and all family members are welcome. As you can see, the children have been learning two new songs and are looking forward to performing them to their families. We look forward to seeing lots of you there.

Settling In

It was lovely to hear from Orla’s family:

“We are delighted at how well Orla has settled into nursery. It seems such a happy and lovely environment. The staff are very friendly and approachable and I can’t thank them enough for making us so welcome. Thank you for Orla’s certificate.”

Like all the children, Orla certainly deserved her certificate. Thank you for leaving us such a kind comment.

Who Looks After You When You’re Ill?

After reading and discussing the book “Bear Feels Ill”, we talked about who looks after us when we are ill.
Zander: my Dad gives me a bandage
Niamh P.: my Mummy – she gives me an apple.
Jade S.: my Dad. He lets me snuggle on the couch with the cuddly blanket and watch tele’.
Keira M.: my Daddy gives me Calpol.
Callum: I get a drink of Summer Fruits off my Mummy when I’m not well.
Ava: Grandma and Mummy look after me.
Cian: Mummy, Daddy, Granny and Grandpa look after me when I’m ill. They phone the doctor in the night.
Julia L.: I stay inside and keep in my bed.
Effy: my Granny gives me hot milk.
Torrin: everyone looks after me. I get medicine so I don’t cough.
Ayda: Mummy cuddles me and kisses me. She gives me chewy sweets.
Charlie: my Mummy gives me apples. I give Mummy biscuits when she’s got a cold.
Max L.: Paige makes medicine to make me feel better.
Isaac: Mummy tells me to have a wee sleep then she gets me a drink.

Certificate Stars

A few children have been awarded certificates over the past week or two in Nursery. Some have received them because they settled well in their first few weeks, others for being kind and helpful but all these children deserved their awards and seemed proud of their achievements. Well done boys and girls.
