“Lovely to see all the boys and girls dressed up for Halloween. Looks like a fab time was had by all.”
We did all have a great time and it was lovely to see everyone joining in all the games.

As promised, here is a selection of photos from the afternoon Hallowe’en party. As you can see, their outfits were just as impressive as those in the morning and the face painting that some of the children had was fantastic. Thank you to everyone who helped all the children look so good.

When parents were recently ordering Nursery uniform, we had a query about buying fleeces for Nursery. Although these are not currently available, we could enquire with Carlisle Embroidery if there was sufficient interest. Please mention this to staff if you would be interested and we can look into the possibility of fleeces.
Some of our morning families have been enjoying the Hallowe’en party photos and have posted comments:
“It’s lovely seeing all the fun the children are having at the party. Great outfits and happy smiles.”
“Everyone is having fun!” and “Enjoying the grub! “
The outfits were fantastic and the children certainly seemed to have good fun.
Our Hallowe’en parties seemed to go down a treat last week with everyone. We dooked for apples, caught marshmallows with our teeth, played lots of games and enjoyed party food together. Thanks to everyone for dressing the children in their super outfits which added to the fun. We hope you can get a flavour of the morning party from our photos. We will do our best to get the afternoon ones posted soon.

A witch left her rhyming bag in Nursery last week and the boys and girls had to sort everything out for her so that they went into her cauldron in rhyming pairs to make the best spell. This was tricky and required very good listening ears but, as you can see, the children were becoming good at learning to find things that rhymed.
An expert pumpkin carver, in the form of Jade’s Mummy, came in to the Sunshine Room this week to show us her skills. She had already brought two pumpkins for our display but it was great for the children to help her and give her their ideas for a design. As you can see, they were a super help scooping out the seeds and they set her the task of carving a spider in the pumpkin. We think that she did a brilliant job so thank you very much to Jade’s Mummy.
The children have been getting in the mood for Hallowe’en all week and many of them are talking about their outfits. Remember tomorrow is Hallowe’en party day so we hope you are looking forward to lots of fun and games. Fancy dress is optional. We are looking forward to seeing all these witches and skeletons we have been hearing about all week.
There’s been a distinct aroma of pumpkin in the air this week in Nursery as we prepare for Hallowe’en. It was quite a challenge to produce the design that the children wanted for their pumpkin, particularly the one eye that had to be a moon, but the finished result seemed to pass the test. It’s hard to see the little person behind the pumpkin face but he was determined to hold our finished design for the photo.
As you can see, the greatest fun was probably had in the investigation of the insides of the pumpkin. Some of the vocabulary that the children used to describe how it felt and smelled was super and they were amazed by the number of seeds inside.
We hope that you will bring lanterns from home tomorrow for the competition organised by the HFA. Remember to bring them in during the day for judging and winners will be announced at the Hallowe’en disco tomorrow night.
Regardless of weather, most children love outdoor play and work well together to use the resources available to them. As you can see from these photos, the last day of term brought some very heavy showers which inspired the children to build a den to help them stay dry. They showed great perseverance despite the conditions and were pleased with the shelter that they built.
