We would like to welcome Mrs. Gordon to the Nursery team. She will now be in Nursery every Monday afternoon when Mrs. Carruthers is out of class and she is looking forward to getting to know all the children and their families. Thank you to Mrs. Lucas for all her hard work in terms 1 and 2.

Having Fun
Two of our families have been enjoying the photos of Christmas time and the start of the new term:
“Lewis really enjoyed all the Christmas festivities at nursery – thank you!”
We did have a lovely few weeks in the run-up to Christmas – it’s nice to hear that Lewis enjoyed everything.
Jayden has appeared on the blog for the first time and his family enjoyed seeing him busy in Nursery:
“Jayden looks like he is really enjoying nursery! I bet hes ordering a Chinese he was really excited to see his picture from nursery on here x”
Hopefully you will see yourself on the blog again Jayden. I wonder what you were ordering from the Chinese?
Nursery Smiles
Look at the confident smiles from more of our new pupils as they come towards the end of their first week in Nursery. Thank you to all their families for helping them settle in – you must feel very proud of how well they have done.
Happy Start
It’s great to see that some of our new families have been looking at the blog, enjoying our photos of the first few days of their first term:
“On the computer as usual! He loves his new nursery!!:-)”
We’re glad that he’s happy and settled. It’s amazing how quickly the children settle in to Nursery life.
Settling In
Fifteen new children joined us this week and they are all beginning to settle well into Nursery life. They are becoming familiar with the routines and are growing in confidence to try out a range of activities as you can see from our photos. We hope that our new families enjoy using our blog to get a feel for life in Hecklegirth Nursery. Click then click again on the photos to make them bigger.
School Enrolment
We would like to remind you that enrolment for pupils due to start Primary 1 in August 2015 will be on Tuesday 13th and Wednesday 14th January 2015 at your child’s catchment school. If you wish your child to attend a school other than his/her catchment school, there is an option to make this request on the enrolment form.
When enrolling their child, parents/carers should bring with them their son/daughter’s birth certificate and proof of address, e.g. a utility bill or bank statement.
New Term
Monday 5th January will be the start of term when we look forward to seeing everyone again. Lots of new children will also be getting ready for their first day and we feel sure that you will make them feel welcome in our Nursery. They will be excited to be starting Nursery and looking forward to making new friends so we hope that this is the beginning of a happy experience for them.
Our morning session will have a soft start, as usual, between 8.45 and 9.10. The afternoon session will begin at 12.15. We hope that you enjoy the rest of your holiday and we will see you all on Monday.
Reindeer Food
It’s been a busy few weeks in the lead up to Christmas. As well as preparing for our Christmas celebration and having fun at our parties, the children enjoyed a variety of Christmas activities in the craft area. Here are a few photos of them busy making reindeer food and tree decorations from bread. We hope that your trees look lovely with their new decorations and don’t forget to put your reindeer food out tonight boys and girls – hopefully all that glitter will help Rudolph and his friends find their way.
Happy Christmas Jumper Day
Callum’s family has been looking at the Christmas Jumper Day photos:
“Lovely photo of Callum Sophie and Faye. Happy Christmas jumper day”.
The children look so happy in these photos. We think they were starting to realise that Christmas is getting close.
Christmas Jumper Day
Our last day before the Christmas holiday was “Christmas Jumper Day” and lots of you joined in with the festive fun. Those fantastic jumpers seemed to put a smile on everyone’s face and you all put us in the mood for Christmas.
