Happy Days

Thank you to those parents who leave comments on the blog. We love to hear from you all. Kenny’s family liked the photos at the library on World Book Day:

“Looking very engrossed Kenny! “

Kacey’s family has been enjoying the Red Nose Day faces:

“Wow, what a lot of funny faces for Red Nose Day!”

We love those funny faces too. It’s great that so many children took part. Thanks to everyone for participating.

Red Nose Day

Dress in red and make your faces funny was the Hecklegirth challenge on Red Nose Day and the Nursery children took part with great enthusiasm. Thank you to Joe’s Mum for providing the frame which produced some super photos. Thank you also to everyone who gave a donation on the day – the Nursery children raised £49.32. We hope you enjoy these happy faces.

World Book Day Outing

World Book Day was a great success with the children coming to Nursery in their pyjamas with their favourite book. As part of our celebration and our learning about the local community, we also paid a visit to Annan library. As you can see, everyone seemed to enjoy the super stories read by Tina and were keen to discuss which was their favourite.
Lots of children seemed to be familiar with the library and hopefully more may join after this visit. Thank you to all the parents who came along with us. We really appreciate your help.

Well Done Torrin

Torrin’s Mum has been enjoying seeing him on the blog:

“I am so impressed to see Torrin interacting with different foods. This is definitely to be encouraged!”

“So proud of Torrin for his listening award, I hope he continues this useful skill at home! I love hearing his great ideas; children have the most amazing unrestrained imaginations.”

Thank you for leaving us a comment. It’s great to hear your thoughts.

Super Storytellers

Miss Dennis, our P7/6 teacher, has been having a look at our World Book Day photos and left us a message:

Glad to see world book day activities were enjoyed by nursery children and the primary six buddies. I hope you all enjoyed the stories! Primary 6 from P7/6 certainly enjoyed reading the stories to the nursery pupils and are looking forward to reading more stories with them!

We already know that Primary 6 children are shaping into great buddies and we discovered that they are very good storytellers too. Thank you Miss Dennis for leaving us a comment and thanks also to the super children from your class who did a great job. We look forward to seeing them again soon in Nursery.

Stories In Pyjamas

World Book Day is always a lovely opportunity to celebrate our favourite books and to encourage the children to enjoy stories. This year, as part of a whole school celebration, the Nursery children wore their pyjamas to Nursery and brought in their favourite books. It was great to see that almost everyone participated and amazingly some even brought a book that matched their pyjamas.
Primary 6 buddies from P7/6 came to visit (in their pyjamas of course) and were super storytellers, making sure that every child had their favourite book read to them. We hope that you enjoy these photos from World Book Day – more will follow in the next few days of their visit to Annan library as part of our celebrations.

Doctors and Nurses

Kacey’s Mum has been enjoying our recent photos:

“Lovely pictures of the hospital and ambulance visit looks like we’re going to have lots of new doctors and nurses in a few years time!”

The hospital has been one of the most popular role play areas we have had and so many children are working well together and taking turns. I think we do have a few doctors and nurses of the future.
