Finlay Enjoys Family Learning

Sounds like Finlay’s having good fun with the Family Learning bags.
“I chose the numbers bag last week and got a game called snail trail, I am very good at it, I have been beating my Mummy,. Daddy and my Brother at it.I wonder what I will choose this week??? I am really enjoying the bags so far. Thanks.”

Remember everyone can get an activity sack on a Thursday from Eileen, our Family Learning Co-ordinator. If you’re not sure where to go, just ask a member of staff or another parent. Tomorrow is also the Diwali activity with Eileen so we hope you all have fun.

Rhyme Time

Our recent focus on rhyme, as part of our literacy development, has encouraged the children to listen carefully for rhymes in words. To support their learning in Nursery, we suggested a home activity to bring in items that rhyme to show their group. This has been good fun as the children have begun to think about and hear rhyming sounds. Well done to those who brought in examples for our display. We hope you enjoyed this activity and that your ears are now becoming tuned to those special sounds.

Family Learning

Our learning this week is focussing on Diwali, the Hindu Festival of Lights. We would like to remind you that Eileen, our Family Learning Co-ordinator, is offering an activity linked to this on Thursday 15th  and Friday 16th November. You can come along with your child to the learning room where the activity bags are given out and have fun together. Younger brothers and sisters are welcome too.

Eileen has put a notice up on the Family Learning board in the corridor beside the Rainbow Room’s cloakroom – simply add your name in the
time slot that suits you to take part. We hope that lots of families enjoy this activity. It’s a great way to have fun with your child and perhaps make some new friends.

Welcome to Miss Awde

We would like to welcome Miss Zara Awde to our Nursery. She is a Nursery Nurse Modern Apprentice and will be undergoing her training with us. Miss Awde will be full-time in Nursery for the rest of the year, spending time in both the Rainbow and Sunshine Rooms. We hope that Miss Awde enjoys her time in our Nursery – the children have certainly given her a warm welcome since she started on Friday.
