Bike Art Competition

We have a message below for Mr. Palmer who is setting you a challenge. We are looking forward to seeing what you all do. Have fun!

Morning everyone.

This would normally be the Big Pedal fortnight if we were at school and nursery. The playground would start to fill up with bikes and scooters with more of you travelling to nursery that way. We would have a ‘Skills day’ with Annan Cycling Club and Katie and a Cycling breakfast too. I hope many of you are still managing to get out on your bike and scooter, either in the garden or out on family bike rides.

As we can’t be at nursery for the Big Pedal we are going to have a cycling related competition from home instead this week. The challenge if you want to take part is to create your own ‘Bike Art’. You can use any materials from your home (ask a parent/carer to help you) to design your own special bike.

To help you with ideas go to the following link:

Indoor Ideas

You will see Katie, our local Ibike officer for Dumfries and Galloway explaining how to make Bike Art.

Please send your competition entry in as a picture to the school office on gw08officehecklegirt@ea.dumgal.sch.uk or email me on gw08palmerchris@ea.dumgal.sch.uk by Friday 1st May.

I’m looking forward to seeing all your finished entries. There will be a winner and runner up prize for Nursery-P1, P2-P4 and P5-7. Katie has kindly donated some t-shirts and water bottles for prizes.

There are plenty of other bike related ideas that we can do at home on https://ibike.sustrans.org.uk/indoor-ideas/ and they change each week so go and have a look.

Have a good week everyone.

Mr Palmer
