Fun Play Ideas

Through play, children learn to make sense of the world around them.

Play is important because it helps young children to develop a range of skills. These include physical development, language skills, creativity and problem solving.

This June edition of the Early Years Team newsletter provides seven fun activities for you to enjoy at home with your children. Click on “Go to this Sway” below to see their great ideas with simple instructions and wonderful photos to inspire you. We hope that your children have lots of fun while they learn.

“Well done Lily and James super idea x”

She also wanted to thank Tesco for donating the plants for our planter:

“Thank you Edith and Tesco very much appreciated your your donation 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 X”

All the staff are certainly delighted with their kind generosity.

Thank You Tesco

We would like to say a huge ‘thank you’ to Tesco for their recent generous donation for our planter on the High Street. Mrs. Kirkpatrick kindly wrote to ask for their help and Edith invited her to collect this lovely selection which we hope will blossom over the summer to brighten up the High Street for everyone in the town.
Thanks also go to Mrs. Kirkpatrick and Mrs. Gray for taking the time to plant and water the new plants in our planter. We are sure that everyone will appreciate your efforts and look forward to seeing the plants grow and flower over the next few months. Why not take a walk with your family to see what a good job they have done?

Super photo Lily and James! “Egg and spoon” can be tricky and skipping is definitely a great skill to learn. Thank you very much for sending us your photo. We are glad that you had fun.
