A fire fighter recently visited Nursery to talk about his job and about how to stay safe in a fire. As well as learning about the dangers of matches through a story, the children enjoyed fun games to help them remember to stay low in a fire as they crawled under makeshift smoke in the form of a billowing parachute.
Some children tried out a jacket and helmet for size and had some good ideas about why a fire fighter needs different parts of his/her uniform to stay safe. We think that quite a few of the children like the idea of being our fire fighters of the future and they certainly look the part.
