Good Save!

Is it the winning team?

Hamden was the destination for some lucky primary 3 children Dalbeattie primary. 11 girls and boys, accompanied by Head teacher mrs Jamieson and DHT, Alex Howie, made the journey to Hamden stadium for the 2013 Tesco Bank Football Challenge. Dalbeattie Primary school was selected to represent Dumfries and Galloway local authority, thanks to the super football coaching which has been taking place under the guidance of Bradley Howard. Following an early start, pupils set off for a fun packed day of activities including a tour of the dressing rooms and being photographed with the actual Scottish cup, just 3 days after it had been lifted by this year’s winning team, Celtic. The children also got to take part in a mini funfair of bouncy castles, meet premier league players and participate in workshops on football skills. However, the highlight of the day had to be actually geting to play football on the famous Hamden turf. The children were divided into 5 a side games and our children not only played against each other but against teams from other school too. The aspiring footballers of the future worked so hard and demonstrated some promising talent; it was great to see them showing good sportsmanship and representing the school so well. This is a memory that will last with them forever.
