Library time

We love visiting Menzieshill library!

We have one more visit to the library in P3- on Friday 23rd June. Please return all books to school by this date please. Visits will recommence in P4 and of course you are welcome to visit as a family during the holidays ( opening times on earlier p3 post). Many children are interested in taking part in the summer holiday reading challenge and the craft activities offered by the library.

Summer fayre

Thank you!

Many thanks to all who came to buy  plants in pots decorated by P3 and /or have a go at the hoop-la!

Many thanks too to all the children who helped our enterprise project successful by enabling us to make a profit.

Thanks to children for hard work decorating pots, making the bunting or a poster.

Thanks to all children who took money, gave change, handed out hoops, gave prizes and  those who encouraged customers to buy with their sales pitch!

P3 had many confident individuals, effective contributors, successful learners and responsible citizens on Saturday, putting their skills to good use. Well done!

Sensational fun!

The weather didn’t put us off our quest to learn how to be a scientist.

We participated in various experiments in a workshop, observing changes.

Don’t we look smart in our lab coats?

Firstly we observed changes to a tuning fork, once struck.

Then it was time to observe changes to liquids when bi-carbonate of soda was added:

Finally we investigated how liquids can change colour:

It was great fun using the pipettes and predicting what might happen.

Our fun wasn’t over as we then had a chance to explore the other activities at Sensation:

And finally we were treated to a minibeast show, which reinforced and added to the learning  done with Mrs Brankin on Wednesdays.

A great day was had by all!
