Some of us have been using beads, Numicon and rods to explore the stories of 10 and 20.
Today we challenged our partner to find a number’s friend to make 10 or 20.
We used the large blocks to measure the height and length of larger objects.
We even found out that Mrs Taylor is 9 blocks tall!
Much of our learning has followed our castle theme.
We learned about symmetrical patterns and made some for crowns:
We learned about cooking in the castle kitchens and which foods would have been available. We made some items for the kitchen:
We took turns and practised our counting when we played the castle game.:
We enjoyed using play dough to make castle themed pictures:
We have been learning about life long ago when Jesus was a boy. We made plasticine models of Jesus with his family and things he might have had in his home.
A busy week, practising handwriting, making new words and playing with the literacy games.
Playing outside we had an opportunity to use our imagination to create fun ideas.
Some of us are co,paring the size of objects, using the language : tall, taller. tallest, short, shorter, shortest.
We even spoke about height of the wood when playing outside. I was told that this piece of wood was taller than the holder.
Others used the rods to find out exactly how long or tall somethings were.
