We have been using the number lines or tracks and rods to explore what 2 numbers added together make.
We calculated what 2 numbers added together would make and checked our answers using the rods and number lines.
Some children looked at finding missing numbers in number sequences.

Primary 2 – Literacy open morning
We enjoyed showing visitors from our families some of the activities we use in our class literacy lessons.
Our focus today was handwriting, with a few other literacy activities.
Primary 2 – Experimenting with number rods
Some children were set a challenge to make a tree with the rods and then work out the value of the rods used in their design. Lots of adding in our heads was needed.
This tree has rods with a value of 34.
This design has a value of 50.
This tree uses rods with a value of more than 70!
