Primary 2 – Exploring number
Some of us have been using beads, Numicon and rods to explore the stories of 10 and 20.
Today we challenged our partner to find a number’s friend to make 10 or 20.
Primary 2 – Measuring
We used the large blocks to measure the height and length of larger objects.
We even found out that Mrs Taylor is 9 blocks tall!
Primary 2 – Latest castle themed learning
Much of our learning has followed our castle theme.
We learned about symmetrical patterns and made some for crowns:
We learned about cooking in the castle kitchens and which foods would have been available. We made some items for the kitchen:
We took turns and practised our counting when we played the castle game.:
We enjoyed using play dough to make castle themed pictures:
Primary 2 – Life in Jesus’ time
We have been learning about life long ago when Jesus was a boy. We made plasticine models of Jesus with his family and things he might have had in his home.
Primary 2 – Literacy
A busy week, practising handwriting, making new words and playing with the literacy games.
Primary 2 – Using our imagination
Playing outside we had an opportunity to use our imagination to create fun ideas.
Primary 2 – More measuring
Some of us are co,paring the size of objects, using the language : tall, taller. tallest, short, shorter, shortest.
We even spoke about height of the wood when playing outside. I was told that this piece of wood was taller than the holder.
Others used the rods to find out exactly how long or tall somethings were.
Primary 2 -More music
And now a keyboard player…
Well done!
Primary 2 – Bagpipes
We loved seeing these bagpipes and hearing the noise they can make.
We think castle dwellers would have been entertained by bagpipes.
