Toothpastes through history

We experimented with toothpastes that people would have used through the centuries. Our first was a mix of wood ash and water. It was messy and didn’t look like it would do a great job of cleaning! Next was a mix of chalk powder for roughness, water, mint and parsley for fresh breath and salt and pepper to kill germs. This looked better! Last was bicarbonate of soda for roughness and whitening, mint for fresh breath and vinegar to kill germs. The vinegar and bicarbonate fizzed up and made a foam! This one smelled great and looked most like what we use nowadays.
