Miss Gordon has been leading the gym lessons for the last few weeks and we’ve been really energetic, taking part in relays, team games and using a variety of equipment.

Mother’s Day
Hopefully the mums of our class really liked the cards we crafted last week.
Maths challenge winners!
We had a maths challenge in class. We had to use our strategies really quickly and find the answer on the board. Lana and Aoife were the winners with Lana giving her answer in 2 seconds and Aoife in 3 seconds. Well done girls!
Fit Thursday
We had an active day with a range of different sports to try. We did curling, football with SFA, tennis, dance, basketball and bowling. We will all sleep well tonight!
Busy afternoon!
Today we were very busy with our IDL through the Expressive Arts. Our student Miss Gordon helped us learn more about bacteria through music, movement and drama and there were also art stations for painting our toothpaste pictures and drawing and cutting for handwashing posters.Â
Literacy- poor Tab the cat!
This week Mrs Oglesby’s literacy group have been reading Tab’s kitten. Tab’s kitten went missing and we found him sleeping in the classroom. We enjoyed playing with the cat context area, feeding the cats fish and milk and talking about the toys the kitten might like. We wrote some really great stories about it all too!
Active Maths in Primary 2
We were on the go all day today. We started with maths. Mrs Oglesby has bought game show buzzers to make our maths even more exciting and fun. In teams, we had to toss pom poms into tens and units baskets, add up our score and whack that buzzer! Next we built chimney sums using the baskets and Pom poms and added the units and tens. We then used our practical experience to write and complete sums using the interactive whiteboard.
Our Eatwell Plates
We enjoyed sorting foods into the food groups and creating our own Eatwell Plates. As we near the end of our IDL we have learned a lot about a balanced diet and why it is so important for a healthy life.
Our fabulous WBD costumes!
From a Mr Gum to the Gruffalo Mouse, fairy godmothers to Paddington, we really enjoyed World Book Day! Congratulations to Holly for her fabulous Annie costume that won best dress up at the parade!
Tay FM visit for World Book Day
Stuart and Erin from Tay FM visited us today to read for World Book Day! They made us laugh lots and we made them laugh with our jokes! We are looking forward to hearing ourselves on the radio!
